Bart, do you build the switch in place, or in the shop and then move it to it's p;ace?

Pics?

Theyre bult on a jig in the shop then moved into place then bradnailed down…

I see what U R up to.
You want to set in the shade of that tree you built the loop around. That way you can set in the shade all day, while you run your train.
The kitty is out of the sack now.
We have vays to make you talk.
It isn’t the first time we caught operators relaxing in the shade.

On Saturday, July 2, 2011 the official Golden Spike Ceremony was held, thus forever entertwining the Gold Spike Celebration with the 4th of July Weekend. Some of our long time members may remember a little girl in pink inspecting my tracks around 15 years ago, welp she will be 16 in july as she drives the Golden Spike…

Here the excursion comes off the Cutoff Line onto the WV&K main at Chandler, this little locomotive was purchased on a whim, and converted to an 0-6-0 on a lark, but has rapidly become my favorite loco…

The locomotives rest during battery changes on the line, trains ran into the evening, and was an overall plesing event.

Nice to see you with trains running, Bart… Congrats…

Your correct!! He lived up too his promise!! ;) Nice work Bart!

In the construction/building trade (and that goes for building a RR too) there are 3 things to consider, good price, high workmanship and ahead of schedule. You can only have the pick of 2, not all. The way I see it Bart is ahead of schedule, fine workmanship and he might be under budget. WTG Bart!

Bart, . . looks great. I really like both your trackwork and your locomotive.

So after taking time off, Im back at it. Was testing the siding lengths today, running my 4 truck Shay, No119…

Shay No8 is the Pearce Yard switcher and is taking on the ancient cabin to the consist…

With the cbin on the rear, and 119 on the headend, the drag is ready to ease out of the yard…

The train clears the yard throat, and the longest train on the WV&K to date is under weigh…

The train rounds the sweeping curve between Pearce Yard and The Junction…

The train arrives at The Junction. Looks like 8 cars and a cabin are the max that can be handled with the siding lengths…with 5-7 cars being the normal train tonnage…

It t’wasnt all fun running trains today though. Some work did get accomplished. One more turnout was upgraded andna fourth track laidmin PearcenYard. This is going to be the interchange track, and allows access to the second indoor storage track that will eventually act as a fiddle yard during operations…

So, has a date been picked to celebrate the work that is completed?

I dunno…when y’all passing this way again?

Bart, it is a rare man that spells under weigh correctly. Bravo Zulu!

Congrats on the work so far. Looks good.

I dunno Steve. Everything I read says you both got it wrong
Ralph

There are quite a few more, but one should be enough to make the point.

Nope…under weigh is originally a nautical term …the navy song is anchors aweigh…not anchors away… Means you have have weighed anchor and begun your journey…dispite what the unwashed masses may say…Patrick O’brien, C.S. Forester, and Alexander Kent are not wrong!!
