Bart…it looks like you are making good progress…nice work, Laddie…

Bart good to see progress. Was the one board you used curved to order?

Seeing the fan I can tell what the weather was. Keep up the good work!

Nice so far. I like the look of the track. This summer has been too hot/humid to want to do anywork.

Nice start, bart… Keep on Truckin!!!

So Bart, are you using Fred’s pattern of post on top of concrete blocks or pads in the ground? A little hard to tell by the pictures.

Bravo Bart! Just how long is that yard going to be? Looks pretty impressive.

Ummm Hollywood thats an optical illusion, Ric mine are just resting on 2x8 plates, can;t seem to get the blocks reliably here, Richard, as is the frame from the Old Shop to the far end id roughly 26 feet at the end of the TT lead and ready track, the TT and engine house will be built beyond that, so I total the Pearce Yard complex will prolly end up in excess of 30 ft long…

…grinning…

Hey Bart,

Looking good so far. Are you actually nailing the ties down to the treated wood under your weed fabric? If so, how does that work out for you?

Chuck

I hope you’re making the curves wide enough to handle a Connie this time…

Yep been nailing them down fer 10 years or so…getting them back up in one piece is a trick however! Ken the branchline is still blessed with the 6ft curves but the mainline will have 12s!

Looking good Bart. Put a couple of bags of ice on the leeward side of that fan and you’ll have a poor-man’s air conditioner

Got some stuff done today!

…grinning…

Well, I guess being out late friday nite and drinkin all that coffee didn’t hurt ya any…

Welp took advantage of the great weather last weekend, started grading roadbed out of Pearce Yard. THe deck immediatly “south” of the Yard once held a staging yard in a former incarnation, now with the old track removed it will be the site of Pearce Station, with the mainline coming through and a spur for storing cabins and business cars behind the station proper…

Continuing “south” the line traverses its own more than 180 degree curve that has been named Big South Loop that turns the line around bringing it into the next town of Chandler…

IN measuring and planning I had figgered that the track would pass within 6 inches of this old laundry pole (which is to be removed) nice to see my surveying skills are pretty accurate …

Eventually the Center of Big South Loop will hold a fountain and ornamental plantings since it is close to the picnic area, and essentially there is no operational activity to take place in there…

Coming into what will be the first station stop on the line, the track plan is not completely worked out yet (will work on that while in Carlyle in November) but there will be a 16 ft passing siding here as well as connections for a switchback leading down to the Buchanan Branch and the cutoff that will eventually allow for continuos running.

The 2x4 off to the right are the anchors that will connect the mainline to the benchwork that will hold the town and industries of Chandler

Looking good, Bart.
Ralph

nice work, bart…
