Large Scale Central

West Virginia & Kentucky V 3.5

Looks good Bart. Hope to see trains running before winter

Gonna be able to run trains when I stop by?..

When will it be done?

Hopefully before he tears it up again next springā€¦

LOL!

Coming along very nice Bart. Dont let winter get in the way especially since it is elevated.

Ok, had a strange occuranceā€¦a Saturday offā€¦and a dry one at that. Made an early morning trip to the lumberyard, and $70 later the ugrading crews are busy at work. Heres a view of most of the railroadā€¦

I made some changes to the benchwork here. Instead of being the switching area of Chandler, ive reimagined it as a marshalling point for mineral traffic coming off the Buchanan Branch called Buchanan Junction. The mainline comes off the righthand board on the deck and the other end will be where the cutoff line connects forming the loopā€¦

Looking railroad south at the end of grading towards the future site of the Town of Chandler. The interior of the loop isnt going to be as big as I originally thought , so ive decided that the switching areas will be on the outside of the loop, and build the town itself inside where static models would be more protected

After using up all the PT lumber Ibegan upgrading ties in Pearce Yardā€¦can ya tell which tracks are hand laid and which are upgraded to AMS tie strips?

Hey Bart, nice to see you and your railroad back in action again. I donā€™t know about having a Saturday off (medically retired) but I canā€™t wait for the rain to go away and start working on my railroad.

Chuck

Nice days work, Bartā€¦

Looking like some agressive roadbed work here Bart. Good to see you got some time to get the woork started. Running by July the 4th ?

ā€¦winkingā€¦

So after the weekendā€¦theres a mainline and siding with upgraded tie strips in Pearce Yard, and the upgrades are done to the South end turnouts, in the distance 0-6-0 No 111 is able to bring a cut of cars out of The Old Shop

111 with a war emergncy hopper testing the tracking through the new track ans switchesā€¦

This is the actual beginning of the mainline southbound out or Pearce headed toward Buchanan Junction

And testing the repairs made to the switches leading to the switch lead. Thelead itself gets upgraded to new ties tomorrow, to the right of the hammer is where i installed the Turntable Lead latwr in the afternoon making it possible to do runaround moves in Pearce Yard. Somehow fergot to get a picture of that in my excitement of running trains!

ā€¦grinningā€¦

Looking like a man with a plan

Bart,

This one is looking pretty good. I hope you can keep it together long enough for some of us to see it. I think we are headed that way in September.

Great!!! Thats what I needā€¦a DEADLINE!

How many engines will fit on that deadline???

Bart its looking great. Keep up the good work.

Andy, I don't think Bart has powered track, so its all dead. His problem is more disassembled, than un-powered. ;-)

Bart: The low bench work makes my back hurt!, however you do need to step over the bench work to get around! And hand laying track work!, Iā€™m impressed! and it is looking good. I found that elevated trackwork is sooo much easier to build and get running. Of course mine is elevated due to grade considerations.
