or the shear pin went. IF you can spin the auger by hand…ENGINE OFF…it’s the shear pin…easy to replace

Shawn, No pics but we've got an average amount. We usually get one storm that sends freezing rain on top of the snow. It was early this year is all. We've probably got a foot of snow and for our area that's about right. North of us in ski country they are running about triple that. Of course that was mostly lake effect south of Buffalo. Lake is mostly frozen now so the next few storms are pure storms and not lake effect "enhanced". Sadly at teh beginning of the last storm on Tuesady my snowblower quit blowing. The motor runs and wheels turn but no impeller or augers. Supposed to get a few inches of snow tonight so I'll try to get to figuring out why it quit. Not happily but it beats shovelling by a long shot.Chas
The freezing rain made our snow solid on top. Not good for XC skiing. Have to wait till afternoon for snow to soften to snowshoe and ski.
1-4 inches for tonight and then real cold weather moving in tomorrow. Grrrrrrrrr.
It was SUPPOSED to be almost 40 and partly cloudy today… We got freezing drizzle mixed with snow all day instead. WAITRESS!, THIS is NOT what I ordered! Take it BACK!!!
Maybe you just need a bigger snowblower. No belts and enough power to send the snow back to where it came from. 454 cubic inch, 420 HP, hydraulic drive, skid steer steering. Radiator on the back and coolant run through the handlebars to keep you nice and toasty.

And open headers to give you (and the neighbors) a ringing headache for 3 days… whee!
My neighbor sent me a picture of my Railroad thinking I might be missing it.

The bridge is about 2 feet up from the river bed below it.
Is that a crime scene photo? Will we see your house on the news?
There is a crime in Geoff’s photo – someone took the ground!
We finally get the Packer Backers and the Steeler fans out of town and have a few days to get rid of the ice and snow. Now we are expecting 2-4 inches of snow tomorrow on top of tonight’s sleet. Three snow storms in 8 days. If I wanted to live with this kind of weather I’d live up north where I could have a basement.
Roger in North Texas where it was 54 today with 10 forecast for tomorrow night.

Is this El Nino of La Nina?
Climate is what you expect, weather is what you get. If you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes, it will change.

Even the El Nino, La Nina stuff is crap. I think we are supoose to be in a La Nina and should be below normal for precip with more rain then snow and milder temps. So far its been cold sice Dec and nothing but snow for the last 2 months.
Actually on the California desert we had El Nino in December with the Pineapple Express dumping lots of rain with some flash flooding. Than it became La Nina with almiost no rain or snow. And I’m watering!
I think it’s la snow.

You know LA to a redneck is Lower Alabama.
48 and Sunny now. But then, this IS Illinois.
We had a Chinook blow through last night. It’s kind of like a Santa Ana wind. Hot (for winter) and fast. 25-35 kts with gusts to 60 kts.
Ya gotta tie yer hat on, fer sure.
