Snowing again this morning. Glad Oscar and I finished clearing the driveway yesterday.
40F and sunny today. Lots of melting going on. I shoveled my way around the house and out to the RV. Huge chunks of ice on top of the snow - probably 3 inches thick. Got my exercise for the day
I managed to clear the West Escape` bridge of ice and snow today. Am thinking of doing a test run of the LS shay. Only problem is the constant drips coming off the roof and splashing on the track. I need a rain shed!
If you would take the snow shoes down it would stop snowing.

I like that one.
Jon it felt great out today. 38 degrees here, felt like a heat wave. I was outside in a T shirt. Got more ice cleared from the tracks. Im hopeing tomorrows sun and warmer weather will melt the rest. Still dealing with waist high snow along the sides of the main line, im glad I kept up on the shoveling.
I realize someone will send a lightening bolt west but it was 63 here today.
Doug Arnold said:Doug sorry to hear that. 85 and I had to trun the AC on because I am painting stuff on the deck and had to close the doors and windows to cut down on the smell of paint in the aprtment.

That’s a lot of peoples in 1 place ehh!
I was out chopping ice off the driveway.
I just wondered why we call it a driveway and not a parkway.
U know Y R done when U wonder why they call Highways Parkways when you can’t park on them, and driveways driveways when you park in them.
Railroads are much easier to figure out.
Another td for Green Bay, thats 3
What projects are you getting done this winter for the layout before it gets hot?
Silver Onyx station was set in place today and I should have a picture on Monday.
Guess where this is at.

Ok I think I have it now.
I’ll bite: Scanton, PA ?
Before dusk, yesterday ran plow down driveway as we had lots of slush. Concrete is now visible in many places. Its the simple things that brings great joy.
Ric Golding said::D Our long range forecast is for sunny days with temps well above freezing. Yesterday was just a taste. I was out working in a T-shirt too Shawn! We have to endure one more week of frigid temps and a few more inches of snow before it starts moderating.

I did get the LS Shay fired yesterday. First time in over a year. Ran it light back & forth over the few feet of outdoor track I could clear. A few issues with the paint job from last winter, but all-in all not bad. The flat clear is no longer flat though. Melting it turns it back to gloss
We have grass visible in some spots. Wife was talking about cutting the grass…
I have Basil growing here.
I had to trim it back it was getting too big.
Goes good on lettuce & tomatoes & toast. And don’t forget the swiss cheese.
Why yes, Steam Town in Scranton, PA.

Shawn,
No pics but we’ve got an average amount. We usually get one storm that sends freezing rain on top of the snow. It was early this year is all. We’ve probably got a foot of snow and for our area that’s about right. North of us in ski country they are running about triple that. Of course that was mostly lake effect south of Buffalo. Lake is mostly frozen now so the next few storms are pure storms and not lake effect “enhanced”. Sadly at teh beginning of the last storm on Tuesady my snowblower quit blowing. The motor runs and wheels turn but no impeller or augers. Supposed to get a few inches of snow tonight so I’ll try to get to figuring out why it quit. Not happily but it beats shovelling by a long shot.

Sounds like replacing a drive belt, would help…While you have it apart, replace the two of them, and save yourdelf greif in the not to distant future…!!
Don’t go cheap…get the proper belt…don’t go for a cheap version…
