It wasn’t my best effort, but it was fun…

Whoa…does this mean we’ll see more outdoor snow shots? You’ve been converted???
Probably not. 20 minutes out there was 20 minutes too long, but it was fun watching that thing try to go through the snow…that was it’s maiden voyage since being R/C’d.
Well Ken a nice video clip and I know you were very keen to get the model running but as they say ’ don’t send a boy to do a mans job’ lol
I like what you did with that railtruck. It was a valiant attempt to have it clear the line and fun to watch.
The model T sound was perfect for it. I remember seeing and hearing it on their website recently but I don’t remember who makes the board. I do recall that they only play for 60 seconds so how did you get it to loop around?
We are buried with snow here, too much to attempt to plow the RR.
Cool video, and I really love the sound.

Thanx, Todd,
We’re pretty much buried here too. That was taken early yesterday morning while the Blizzard was still in it’s infancy. The Railtruck has the RCS TX and RX from my K installed in it with a Goose sound card from Phoenix. It runs continuously till you shut it off. I installed a Raillinx in the K.
Wow had to look at the name twice to make sure it really was Ken that was outside. Im very impressed Ken. You must have found the fountain of youth or your turning into a man finalley.

…all the out of work comedians, and we get stuck with onavem on here…
Tell the truth Ken. The camera was on a tripod and you were inside by the fire controlling through the window!

Haha or better yet he paid the kid next door to shovel and then run the railcar.

Werks fer me…
I should have known that was a Phoenix Ken Sounds good.
We were hit with 8-10 inches of the white stuff from Tuesday afternoon to about 3 today. It is light and fluffy and good to plow but it is a tad deep and coooold out there.
Here is the CCSSSCC the Cape Cod Souvenir Sand Supply and Coal Company mine buried and out of business for now.

I redid this on Adobe Elements 12. First time I’ve used it since I got it.
Now I have to try and be politically correct these days but if Ken was Knighted by the Chinese he would be named Ho Lee Fuk…I can’t believe it… he has actually grown some balls and is plowing snow with a rail truck no less! That’s awesome I love it!
Go sit in the corner, Rooster…and face the wall…
Sheesh, post a minute and a half long little video and all hell breaks loose.

The snow was light but @ 5 the engines/ TE didn’t like to work so good.
I did try to film but camera was also working funky!
It’s only Jan. we will get some more of the white stuff!
We are bound to get some more, but I think my RR will need a complete melt first in order for there to be any hope of clearing snow. We’ve had rain on top of snow and or very wet snow several times followed by deep freeze. I learned years ago not to try and chop ice off the rail.
Jon
You need to clean close to the track so mother nature can do her magic.
I run a long handle shovel along the track REAL slow! I do stop when I’m near switches.
The shovel rides the rails and cleans up between the rails also.
I hear rain now and it’s going to freeze up tonight, so not much we can do untill it warms up just a tad!
Soon it will be the official mud thread!! A…Ya
Seam I use a platic kids snow shovel. I just cut the sides down to the width of my widest car. Because its plastic it runs the rails and switches super smooth.
I did manage to clear my tracks with the plow yesterday. Love the powdery snow. I even got to run it through a snow squall.

I once tried to melt the ice with a torch. That was a mistake, too. I wonder if that will make the cut on the “Mistakes with track,” thread?
