Large Scale Central

The offical snow thread

Hehe That’s great

better you than me Ken lol

Richard

Well our area got an early spring, I can’t believe that all 12" of the snow is gone on the railroad. We went from sub degree weather and snow to 45 degrees with 30 mph winds and rain off and on. Now the yard is all yucky brown and mushy so I still can’t get to the railroad.

snow plow ain’t gonna cut it!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/public/album_photo/5e/bf/01/1bca0_29e6.jpg?c=dedb)

Looks like we finished with 17 inches here. That’s on top of the 15 we already had. Should be a fun drive to Scranton later today.

Shaw you can go to Scranton right after you clear the tracks;)

Thanks Richard. Fridays drive was much better then I thought. Roads were clear. Today I just beat the snow their and left just when it ended. Roads were a little slushy but not bad. I lucked out this time. Monday I plan on clearing the line. I measured 3f drifts in the layout

It’s funny to see so many RR’s buried. Sometimes it jsut doesn’t make sense to dig it out unless you are Sean that is… nice Hudson by the way.

With up to 10"s of wet heavy snow falling yesterday it was impossible to plow. Here is a shot of the water tower frozen in.

In the center of the pic, in front of the spruce tree, is the coal tower. It’s about 3’ tall.

To the left of center is an inverted “V” , that’s Chandlers Mercantile in the town of Hesperus

.

Brrr. That just looks COLD.

Will it ever stop? We had big snow Thursday; A few inches Saturday and again on Sunday with more for Tuesday.

It’ll be awhile before anything runs on that layout, but it is supposed to warm up considerably by mid-week…

This is the view of my railroad on Sunday morning about 8am. The structure in the middle of the picture is a windmill, about 6 feet tall.

and looking out the front of the house.

I don’t think my challenge build will see the railroad any time soon.

And is just keeps coming.

Ron

Got the line cleared today. Looks like another 8 inches forecasted for tomorrow ugh…
