Large Scale Central

The CVRR is getting a new deck truss bridge

That look awsome. A river would add a nice touch to everything.

so maybe 2 more of my foam and stone piers might be in order.. ..;)
I think that would greatly add to it's appearance.................not that it doesn't look great now, but ya know what I mean.......;)

Right below the garden hose and under the Yucca Tree(in the green pot) is a 30’deep x 5’ diam. limestone outhouse hole. Wish I could figure out a way to incorporate it into a water feature. Hell I could raise trout in a hole that deep!
I’m working on a water feature however after chattin’ with Brian Donovan I cannot really do what I wanted. Pondless system would be nice but I’d have to rob a bank, so thats out of the picture. I got some ideas brewing though.

How much room do you have between the viaduct and the fence?
Any slope in your yard and if so, which way ?

Not much space between the two (a few inches) the yard does slope to the left of the picture so that is a positive.

I’ll add more to my expansion thread…

Ran a bunch of trains today too. No pictures though.
My 5th generation Big Hauler dropped a gear. Chugging along and she hit neutral. The electric motor just spinning at very high rpm.
That makes two engines that have already broke down this year. And the season is still young.
A little soldering and the first one will be out of the Sunny View Line repair shop. Then we’ll see what happened to this last one.
I’m afraid with my grades I need a BBT drive. Maybe some day.

Not good. Thats why I stay away from Bachmann. Mine did that and it turned out that the gear box came loose from the motor and striped the gears. Too many issues with Bachmann unless you do the upgrade. I tell ya you should look into HLW engines especially the Big John. It is a great puller and does very well on grades. The 8lbs weight of the engine helps it from not sliping.

Shawn, If I buy any new locomotives it will probably be a HLW. A HLW loco and a BBT drive are both in the long term plan. Ralph

Yes but are you "ALLOWED"? ;) Jon, I thought that was a haul for you? Are you coming in for ECLS in Sept? I would love to see that N&W high hood here then I don't have to ship your cigar store to ya'! All are welcome. Would love to see some real steam here other than my boys Tweetsie set. Don't much matter to me the boy's baseball season is over so whenever it works out for you guys?

I’m just over 4 hours from York - 5 hours to EBT. Email me with a little more specific than South Central PA and I’ll let you know how far it is.

I probably won’t come to York for the fall show. Once a year is enough for me.

20 to 30 mins north of York??
But your still welcome!

Cool, so near Harrisburg then. Definitely put me on the announce list. I’m not certain I could make it, but I’d sure like to try.

I’d like to reciprocate by inviting some guys up here, I just don’t know when. My place kind of looks like a combination used car lot / shanty town at the moment. Matthew is painting his car in a plastic garage in the driveway. We told him he has to July 1 to clean it up. I’m not to confident that he is on schedule :frowning:
