Still looking good Rooster! Don’y pay any attention to that Hollywood guy.
Am learning things from this, thanks

Rooster the truck mods look good, but you went from pieces to mounted truck and the detail isn't clear enough for full opinions. :);)

looking good, son…
Is it done yet?
Thanks!!
No not yet…
Are they done yet?
…grinning…
Time for another pic dump, progress has been slow but getting there. I got bored working on the trucks for now but at least I have a plan and a pattern to follow for them. I decided to try and tackle the A/C grille’s and the fresh air intakes. Spent most of the afternoon with trial and error but I think I have a plan that I somewhat like. I’ll start with the Fresh Air Intake Grilles. I used Evergreen V groove and scribed parallel lines spaced 1/16" apart at 1/4" centers on the sheet. It’s quite tedious covering them with the aluminum tape then going back over the lines with a black sharpie pen to seat the tape in the grooves scored. I’m not real happy with the results but I have no other plan as all the other attempts failed. I really need to see them outside under real light conditions though. You judge for yourself?

Now as for the A/C grilles I made several different attempts at making them the way I want to see them right down to making a jig too hold multiple layers of .20x.156 styrene and drilling out centered holes too hold them in place with 1/32" brass rod. The result was perfect but WAY TOO TEDIOUS for multiple vents. So I came up with two different designs for the louvers and decided on the one. Made a frame and used clapboard on the left but I didn’t like it so I’m going with the one on the right which is the same material I used for the side flutes.

Now for on car comparison shots. This is the one on the left in the above shots.

Each car is individually hand made as I make no molds. For the folks asking about materials I believe I have added lots of hints here… It’s a trial and error issue with some good and bad money spent on this project. However it’s a hobby that I really enjoy!
The second one looks more like a grill than the first so I’d go with that.

I’ll second the second grill motion.

Jeeze Ralph, I figured it out a while ago, then gave you even more hints.
Quit whining, the silver platter is NOT going to appear.

Got some outside shots today in the 40 degree heat wave. The coach baggage at the end is still sitting on freight trucks so it is lower than the other two.

Womans work.
They look great.
They do look good… But don’t tell him… he’ll start dropping feathers…
Very nice, and those grills are definitely better.
Thanks for the pictures and all the how to. I’m saving up for the materials to build one, I’m charging Ralph $200 to tell him the secrets, ha ha!
