Apparently Ric I’ll need to go get a couple 250 ton cranes to place this as I only have a 25 ton crane on site

Ralph, I thought we got along better than this. What did I do? I mean I started out building a station something like this(http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:rCFkzn4u30poiM:http://www.ericcarlson.net/derwood-railroad.jpg)
and now you’ve got me doing this

It’s you that did this huh? Thanks for the heads up Dave R
It’s that Rooster character. He blames me for everything Ralph
David,
Very seriously, what is the actual weight? Are you going to put it on a concrete board platform? I asked the question because of thinking what a shame it would be to have that moving around in an unplanned storm.
I looked at your prototype photo. You are going to have to try again.
Ric,
Actual weight is unknown. Because of it’s size it may only be 25# but, it feels better than 50# at this point so I don’t think it will go anyplace once put down. As far as a base goes it will be a poured concrete slab with the reason being it’s final configuration.Looking at the recent photos showing the dormers you will notice a freight door at the far end. This door will be adjacent to a LCL track for express box cars. You’ll also notice the siding drops to the bottom of the station at the freight end which is where the track will end.
In order to get the doors on the cars to match the freight door I’ll have to excavate the area as I want the main portion of the platform at grade on the passenger end but the freight end set for both truck and train unloading. Hoping this will add to operations when I get that far.
David,
Great insight into the operational side of the structure. Can’t wait to see it in place. Well actually I can, but it should be nice.
This thread is 2 days old??
When will it be done?
In pleanty of time for the spring picture thread. Cutting more shingles now

Brian, “Rooster” has a problem with time, but he keeps pecking away hoping to get it right.

As an official medication provider to the CVRR, I think it’s safe for me to state that Rooster was referring to how long it had been since any progress reports.
I recommend that he double his Ritalin for the next 90 days to combat darkness syndrome.

Thanks Doc your correct!!! I should have stated this POST instead of this Thread…either way I’m out of all medications so may I substitute with a product made from elements of the Earth instead of in a lab.
I was thinking barley, hops, water, grains all put together in a liquid pill form.
Finally have the main roof shingled and I’m able to start the siding on the tower and gables.

Tower/track side shingled and end eyebrow in place
(http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/uu101/dltrains/stationbuild/HPIM1522.jpg)
Dormer side roofing on and siding of dormers started I still have the first floor windows to construct, interior to finish out, and one more freight door to make. If the weather stays on the high end I’ll have time to finish the lower walls before winter. Since this will sit on a concrete pad when in place I will not be able to finish this until the spring, but I should be able to offer passenger service starting in April.
The dormers and shingles sure did turn out nice.
I’m curious to see what you do with the tower roof.
Ralph
Wow! You have a lot of patience. I was gonna glue the wood shingles on my building, then thought NAAAAAH, I 'll use the PP sheets…
That’s bitch’in Dave!
Ralph,
I’m glad you talked him you those additions…
Ken,
I lecture him on his Turtle patience all the time.
Personally…
If I had to pick an individual to be stuck in the desert with on a half full canteen of water, it would probably be Dave M (aka… The Turtle)
Tee hee hee
Page 6 divided by two is?
Thanks for the responses guys.
Ralph… Should be there in a couple of weeks at the most
Ken… After seeing Richard Smiths roof work, I couldn’t help myself. I think this looks alot like slate and I couldn’t think of a better look for the period or structure.
Dave… Thanks. Guess that either says you figure I wouldn’t drink much or, you’re trying to start a small zoo forum.
Maybe you want to call Ken eagle, and Ralph rabbit?
