Nice work Dave. Let’s face it, any large building roof is going to be labor intensive!

Yea we know, but Jon is not.
Is it done yet?
Yes, all the parts that are finished are done.Maybe I’ll post some updates tomorrow if I get time for pics.
As promised I have some updates. At this point everything waits on everything else. So much roof shingle, make corner trim and window frames, so much siding, make windows, repeat. Dormers were somewhat of an after thought so had to figure out how to attach and also needed to vent.

Looking great so far. Another single window dormer to the right, or no? Ralph

For a total of three dormers on the back Ralph. Just the station is so big I’m trying to get the one end done before I have to move it. If he keeps it up Ralph I might have some pics for you that no ones seen
Thanks for all the comments so far all.
Dave
With title “Station underway” I was expecting to see a 10 knot bow wave. ;-D

Forrest, if it had a prop mounted to the roof and it were turned over it might give a good bow wave. We’ll have to let Steve, Ric, or one of the other water boys to chime in on it’s ability to float
Dave that’s why I keep them in reserve
Nice building. I don’t think it will pass ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council) or NMMA (National Marine Manufacturing Association) standards, but it is still a nice building.
Ric, Thank you Finally able to turn station to reach other end

Dormers in place to show roof line

Higher angle Still a good way to go but it’s getting there Dave
Nice work Dave. That’s one impressive station!
Looks great. I think the dormers really turned out well and add a lot to the station.
You’re gonna need a crane to install it
Ralph
OK …so you got the dormers and eyebrows that Ralph suggested you add…where are the Gargoyles connected to the downspouts he also suggested?
It’s all Ralph’s fault you had to do this extra work but it will pay off in the end.
I was thinking a roof that size should also have snow/ice breakers …one would not want passengers getting onto a train in the middle of winter and have the entire roof snow load come down on them?
Looks killer Dave…stickwork on the tower with a 3 color paint scheme would be bang’in
Will it be done by Thanksgiving?
So what kind of weight are you talking here?
Ralph, I thought we got along better than this. What did I do? I mean I started out building a station something like this

and now you’ve got me doing this

It’s you that did this huh? Thanks for the heads up Dave R
