Snow Forcast

Does this mean the Sunny View is shut down? Bunch of wimps should have known to have the plows out to keep the line open :)
Judging by the signal bridge, looks like around 16 feet of snow, give or take. Maybe a rotary, but not a plow ;) Ralph

Snow is a No Show…NADA…freezing rain and that was it…Beautiful Pics Ralph!

Not too bad at 1030 last night.

Not so great this morning.

Supposed to get 15 to 24 today with another 2 to 4 tonight. I don’t think I’ll be out doing any pictures.

I was in Charelson SC when the big snow hit in 72 or 73. Morons didn't know what to do with it, so they used road graders and bulldozers and pushed all the snow onto the freeway on and off ramps (no 526 then, just 26).

Came in on a flight, taxi had to drive all the way into downtown Charleytown to find a way off the stinking freeway, then surface streets back up to Hanahan.

I think the bridge over the Cooper was closed for days…

Its funny to see that. When we had the blizzard of 96 we got 42 inches of snow by me. By the next morning roads were clear. A week later I went back to NC to school and the area was still not opened and roads not plowed. They only got 7 inches. Amazing when areas are not use to snow. LOL

Bruce, Looks like you already have about as much snow as I do…with more coming. No more pictures :open_mouth: You just need a little Rumplemintz to warm you up and you’ll be good to go  Ralph

Bruce
It doesn’t look like a good day for trains. Keep warm.

Read this guy’s opine on the white stuff, but don’t blame me if you get coffee on your screen

It’s getting worse. Just took this one at 1015

Driveway and sidewalk has been cleared. When it snows like this I really hate having a corner lot. It’s already put another 2 inches on the driveway.

Meanwhile, Smith Pond Mill looks cold. They’ve decided to call off any work in the yard behind it.

The towns people are getting a tad worried. It’s bad enough that the bank just barely shows, but the little liquor store is just covered over completely. A few of the smarter customers made sure they got in there last night before it closed; now they can’t leave.

IT’S STILL COMING DOWN…WERE ALLLLL GONNA DIIIIEEEEE!!!

I measured 12 inches of snow on the roof of my pick-up. Still no roads scraped within miles of here.
I’ll be lucky if I can get out by Monday. Temps won’t be much above freezing in the day, and below freezing at night.

Sorry, I had no right to cause offence to anybody there, but in spite of being Hebrile, I had a thoroughly Christian upbringing in a couple of swanky Church of England public schools, and to me, this season is called Christmas for good reason. Like most of my relatives, I always felt a part of the Christmas festivities, coming so close, as it does, to our Feast of Lights, Hanukkah. As such it gave us yet another good reason to prolong the festivations - my Roman Catholic dad and my Jewish mom used to put up the Hanukkah tree at least a week before even THAT festival began

Did you know that American Flyer actually made an 027 Hanukkah box car…?

Reading this it just dawned on me that I might have made a blunder. When I worked at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey before I retired in April I interacted with a lot of officers from Foreign countries and some of them and I hit it off pretty good. A captain from the Israel Army and his lady were at the school for a year before going back home late last year. We had them over to our house to sit around and hang out and watch the trains early in their stay here. We have stayed in touch via email and early this month I sent them a snail mail real christmas card.

Sometimes I’m just a dumb A**.

1300…it’s getting deeper… I’m sure there’s a house there somewhere

Good to see someone had their motive power cooled down and their plow ready. Great pics Penguin looks like you’re having fun.

Ten inches and counting so far here. You can see about 100 yards and that’s about all.

Y’all are having too much fun…sunny here in the Upstate

Looks like you’re out of service Bruce. I’m just outside of York Pa and we’re well over 14’ at this point
