Sludge Works

When I attended the Invasion this summer, I asked Fred if I would be allowed to create a structure for the IPP&W.

He indicated that he had a spot for one over in the new section of track by Peter’s Pond.

Since it was so close to the pond, he thought a sludge works would be a great addition to the railroad.

Before I left, he gave me a couple of items to assist in my building effort.

One was a clear bin - made of acrylic with a hinged lid.

I thought that this could serve as a framework for the building.

He also gave me a tank from a Bachmann tank car.

I ordered a few items from Plastruct to help me get started.

First up was some 3" diameter tube and ends. I cut the tube into 3 sections and glued the ends in place.

While sifting through my parts bin I located the remains of a Stainz boiler and I immediately concluded that with a few modifications it would make a great gronkulator - something every sludge works needs!

Now I just need to assemble these parts into a convincing sludge works.

We shall see.

Where does the Flux Capacitor go?

I’m thinking that could go inside the building, just to protect it from the elements.

Perhaps a sign…

Hmmmmm, that has a mighty strange resemblance to a Turbo-encapsulator…you sure you have the right part?

It is mighty close Ken but,

Forgot to add that I’m really looking forward to this build, just to see where it goes.

LMAO!!

See, Ken, that is not a Turbo Encapsulator, as depicted in the below drawing.

What Bruce is going to model is a Steam Encapsulator.

It is empirically obvious to even the most casual observer that there is a steam dome, as well as a fire box and a boiler, hence a Steam Encapsulator.

So let it be said, so let it be written.

Actually the real turbo encabulator was made by Chrysler …

Nice start Bruce!

Will the facility include a ferromoldomatic transformer?

I really think it need one, Dick. If it is going to have a Steam Encapsulator, it must have a ferromoldomatic transformer. I think that goes without saying.

The only problem is, the ferromoldomatic transformer was very hush-hush, so finding even a sketch, let alone plans for one is going to be a real challenge.

What the hell is a jigawatt?

A jigawatt is not to be confused with a gigawatt and the sludge works should require the proper proprietary protected pointers placed on pipes which provide proper poop propulsion of the pumps.

Regulation 69 sub chapter Q revision part X of the 3rd quadrant.

I forgot to add…How the jigawatt and pumps became a standard at sludgeworks facilities

In the past penguins properly placed proportional and parallel with in the pipes parameters propelled the poop so poorly that porpoises were pondered for power. Precaution’s and procedures were precariously followed preventing the potential pectoral damage to the penguins and porpoises. PETA was pissed and pronounced a proclamation that penguins and porpoises placed in pipes to propel poop was preposterous and policed plants prosecuting any and all persons. Pumps took precedence providing power to the properties and the jigawatt was introduced to protect and preserve the penguins and porpoises.

Here’s a shot of the control room

SWEETTT…When will it be finished Bruce?

I can’t wait till he takes that thing through customs.

Finally the heat will be off me…

The first guy in the Chrysler video reminds me of Ken when he was younger

Ken was younger???

Was?? He still is!!..just ask’im…

I think this might be a pic of him checking out mines back in the day?

In his youth, he was part of the Younger Gang.
