Large Scale Central

Scott's 2019 MIK Bulid

Got the color coat on the office part of the building as well as the trim color. Will post pictures later today/tonight. Thank you for the information on using the “plastic wood” products. This will help me quite a bit in my future scratchbuilds.

Sure looks better than anything pola put out

Thanks!! I still have alot to do yet. Front overhang, signage, weathering, etc…

Finished the overhang, did a wash on the stone foundation, added some trim and getting rough ideas on how to build the in floor lollypop scales. Have to start weathering this week some time as well as signage and details.

Nice build, Scott. You chose well on the stone foundation. It really goes well with the rest of the building.

Nice cornice work the 1/2 round (or what it appears to be) really makes it pop

Absolutely first rate. Your details stand up to the high res close-ups. Very nice work!!!

Every time I check in it looks better and better. You’re pulling off a talented build and I think the coloring is perfect…that green sets all the other elements off.

Who knew Pola made such nice looking buildings. Excellent build

Thanks for all the nice comments and suggestions. I decided to name the building for a good friend of mine who always gives me veggies out of his garden. It will be named “P. J. MORVAN’s PRODUCE”. Will start printing out the signs tonight and work on making some crates and maybe working on the in-floor scales. I have used Walnut, Base wood, Balsa wood and plastic on the build so far. Main timber posts are ripped down walnut.

I’m impressed with your tray of white metal foundry parts, that alone is breath taking!

Ditto to what the other guys are saying!(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

I’m glad my health is saving me from the futility of competition!(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

Been working on some crates, some signage and the platform scales. Used some discarded sewing machine needle tips and odds and ends… used photoshop to make the scale faces and printed out some decals…

Nice work

Really great work!

Started some signage and worked on the smoke jack. Used a freezer basket for the smoke jack i found in the trash at my work…

Fine job on the scales.

Scott,

Nice scrounge

the freezer basket part is cool but the scales are a class act

This whole job is first rate, looks great!
