I have a box full of POLA parts to use for the upper office and maybe the platform roof. The platform i will have to think about… maybe out of wood or some plastic desk inlays i have lying around that can rip down.

Don’t know what type of foundation to use… A stone foundation or a wood braced foundation… any thoughts?
Scott, in the end its up to you, but I am partial to wood. One consideration may be the economic status of the business or town. If it is prosperous, then stone may better provide that allusion and likewise, if its on a shoestring budget, wood may be more appropriate. Just my 2 cents. I look forward to the build with stone or wood.

All just glued ( tightbond III ) and pin nailed. Easy breezy…

Scott, how do you find anything in there? Everything is in its place. I see you decided to go with stone for the foundation. That will look good. A couple years ago the challenge required us to use cut stone as part of the build and I chose to build a water tank. I really wanted the wooden lattice work supporting the tank so I built a stone foundation and put the lattice work on top of the stone as shown below. I had elevation on my side though.

Scott, if it turns out like the inspirational photo (I have no doubt it will), you will have a fine loading dock for the RR. I have that same little chop saw. It does a good job, my only complaint would be that its size doesn’t allow to see what you are doing very well. Looking forward to the next update.
