Running at Jim K's Layout

Linda and I had the pleasure of visiting Jim & Jo Ann Kottkamp’s Ridgway Grande Scenic Railway yesterday.

We’d just missed Bruce and Jean Chandler there, but I’d brought Bruce’s beautiful coach and pulled it behind Jim’s #41 which he was kind enough to let me run. Jack Thompson ran his #29 and train, Pete Thornton his live steam #42, and Jim was switching tankers with his #463.

No great videography here, as usual for me; just a candid pan of all these trains running, while I was trying not to run into anything with mine.

Watch for Jim’s new Ames hydroelectric plant in the foreground near the beginning, a very accurate model of (IIRC) Colorado’s first such power plant.

As always, the mountains and foliage are stunning on this layout!

Toward the end, check out Pete’s shortened and lengthened Aristo coaches in service.

I took a few pictures when I was there as well… but left before most folks got there…(had to go back to our apartment to clean it :innocent:)
Sorry we missed most, though we did get to see Jack Thompson!

What a beautiful day!

Many thanks to Jim and Jo for hosting!

It was a beautiful day, warmer than forecast. Sorry we missed you, Bruce. It was good to meet Cliff again - we cross paths about once a year!
Thanks Jim & Jo for hosting us again!

Makes you just wonder what some people wear to TrainOps…

I’m sure he and Jean would have stayed longer if they could have. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
