Large Scale Central

Pepper's Ice Co. - Devon's 2020 MIK

Well with my balance who knows what we will end up with.

So here are a few more pictures of the weekends progress

Now its time to start the detail work.

That looks good, Devon. What is the roofing material on the main building?

100 grit wet/dry sand paper

I was able to glue the leading edges down better so it looks nicer

Got some of the upper deck railing done last night

That is one nice railing! And I have to ask if you made the headboard in the background…

Jim you are not supposed to be looking at my messy room in the background. No I didn’t make that one.

Heck, Devon, I didn’t even notice any mess, I thought that’s just the way rooms were supposed to look (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

I agree with THAT assessment! But, then look at the background of any of Cliff’s pictures - there’s not a speck of dust even.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif) Mighty fine work from both, so, I must be doing SOMETHING wrong!! Bruce,

thanks for the laugh. I have thought that about Cliff’s work space also. How can you get anything done? I’d be paralyzed from fear of having something out of place so I’d just sit there.

Now Devon, no one would ever accuse you of … well… devoning.

Still having internet woes. But progress is being made. In fact I am just about done. Pictures tomorrow

Internet, what’s that (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)We’re still using two cans and some string for communication down here in God’s country (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)How can you be almost done, you’ve got 9 more days to go.

Not a whole lot of details. Makes it go fast. . . Not pretty but fast and it will be nice and functional

So here are the final construction shots. I am calling this project done. Nice glamor shots will be taken for the final reveal. But here is where it is and will remain.

The back

Drop ramps on front

The rigging for the drop ramps

and finally a picture of the lights with Pepper and friend

Not my best work but I am pleased with it. I didn’t want to go detail crazy as i am not sure how much of my construction techniques will survive outdoors. I am kinda of the 10 foot rule frame of mind on this one.

Nicely done, Devon! The working rigging to drop the ramps is a nice touch. And photographing it on your washing machine is another nice homage to Mik.

[edited to fix a wrong word. doh!]

Actually thats my stove. The glamour shots will be on the washer.

I have the same glass top GE

More importantly your build is coming along much better than you suggested it would! Neener neener!

I don’t know John its just kinda blah to me. But it will be functional and serve its purpose. I am just so used to pouring myself into little details it feels weird not to.

Nice work Devon! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)
