Plan B seems to be working. At least the corner problem is solved somewhat. As far as the seams go, I may have to live with what I got. Either the building is crooked or the sheets aren’t square or a combination of the 2…

or maybe your crooked

That has occurred to me, too…

“All right, all right, all right,” as actor Matthew McConaughey once said. I’ve bent plastic sheet, melted it with too much solvent cement and hate the whole process. But what’s going on with the Pawn Shop project, KB?

Just askin.’ I like to read progress reports.

Ask and ye shall receive…

I tried it without the heat, clamped it good and let it set overnite. Much happier with those results. At least it hasn’t popped off yet.

As soon as I get done painting the doors and windows I’ll add the rest of the siding.

On a scrap piece of brick sheet I tried various colors for the mortar lines; off white, dark gray, light gray and black. I like the black the best. Gave it an older, grimier appearance. And hopefully it will hide some of the imperfections with the seams.

Putty and paint make the job what it ain’t!

You got that right…

Let me know when its done. Ill send you my address

Ken, When you put the black mortar on, I try to avoid getting it into the seams. Work the paint up to but not in them. I think this will help to hide the seam if it doesn’t get further defined by the black paint. That’ll look great on Shawn’s new layout!

Looking good Ken. I’m waiting for the bars on the windows

Bars on the windows?

To keep the VAGrant in or to keep the Vagrants out?

Due to some nice weather recently and leaves all over the yard, took awhile to get back to this. The seams don’t stick out as much as they did, and I can live with this.

The front will be facing away from the front of the layout, and the back will be in plain view, so it won’t be too terribly noticeable. The back will be board and batten, with very little brick, and no seams.

Thats coming along nicely.

Ken

Perhaps an awning and signage to hide the seems some more if you wish. This is a pawn shop.

I will give that some thought, Dave. Thanks It’s been on the back burner while I’ve been deciding whether to do it over or try to fix it some how plus all the leave induced yard work lately.

Must be State Workers, working on this project. Its taking forever and I have a business to run.

Got a shovel?

I need a shovel to lean on while contemplating this conundrum…

Haha sorry Ken we need the shovels for tomorrows snow…

Ken,

Methinks you need a Mexican Shovel, comes with a kick stand so you won’t fall over in the middle of a good Ponder.

…winking…

A really big sign across the front, and a small vent pipe up to the roof line over the side seam. For indoor plumbing, or a stove pipe starting about 4’ up for that cheap stove the miser uses.

Put the kick stand down, let the shovel rest for a bit and got some done on the back.
