Sure does look better than the “Dark Future” scheme If I was a modern diesel guy I would need one or two in the PRR scheme.
This one has merit…
The logo needs to be a little bigger, but not a bad looking unit!
What about some old Milwaukee units?
The suits, i.e. Warren Buffet and his posse run BNSF, not any railroad men or women, so these will always remain fantasy paint schemes.
The came close in '95 with the Heritage 1 nod to the GN and the Red and Silver nod to the Santa Fe, but I do not think that the suits now at BNSF have any desire to look back at where they came from.
And that is just too damn bad!
I wouldnnt be too quick to judge ol’ Buffet. It seems all the major railroads are in a PR campaign. The Heritage paint schemes started by UP have been sucessful in promoting the railroad. BNSF might just surprise you.
I never understood why any railroad advertises on TV. Seriously, it’s not like I look at the ad and say “Yes, I’m sending my next ebay purchase by rail”. If you’re in the shipping biz it’s already a known entity (My company ships by sea often, and I’ve never seen an ocean freight ad). Short of company pride, and safety campaigns I can’t imagine what good it does 'em.
That said, I am glad they do take pride in their history!

I will watch Enola this summer for that one!
I like that Central of Georgia almost as much as I like the Pennsylvania 5 stripe

I really like the Central of Georgia too Here is heritage unit #7. I’m not familiar with the Road, but it is a pretty sharp paint scheme. Ralph

isn’t that IRC ?
Double post, my bad.
Dam,
Looks like when i get caught up on some bills, I be adding another one to the list.
I have to tell ya, everyone of these so far looks sweet!!!
Interstate was a small regional carrier around th e Virginia/Kentucky border, was absorbed by the Southern…there are actually two books out about it, one about their mine runs is a must read. They also had a steam roster that look like a model railroader put it together…
