Engineer friend sent me this the other day. It was in the NS coal yards in Ashtabula. He didn’t get to run it though.

If you’re on Facebook, the Altoona Works page and the Norfolk Southern page will keep you up to date on the Heritage units and share some great photographs

Uhm, I just kinda backed off my 1/29’ish stuff to concentrate on Fn3. Then you go and post these pics… O_o
Now that PRR, is a great looking loco
Maybe the important question is: Will Aristo offer repaints of these?

point but who knows. On the plus side, I have a painter that does awsome work, Take a look at my
RI units in the video.

Victor Smith said:They may not but I am seriously thinking of doing that Pennsy unit myself. Simple scheme and dry-transfer stripes/markings. It just looks so sweet!

Of course if they did it would all but assure Aristo would release it a month later…

Weren’t the Union Pacific Heritage Units released in large scale, I coulda sworn someone did those in large scale including that hidious paint jobbed George Bush loco, or was that only in HO I saw that?
Heres a video of mine.
Thanks Nick, I knew I wasnt completely out of my mind. The irony is that these NS Heritage units roadnames are in traditional paint, unlike UP who tried to “modernize” their heritage fleet paint schemes (so they wouldnt have to pay royalties to themselves?) that I would suspect the old school paint schemes would be very popular if they were released. Oh well swing a little work to the custom paint guys.
The BNSF Heritage I Dash 9 would be very easy to convert to Great Northern, too.
Victor Smith said:Victor, I agree, There are four of these paint schemes that I would like to have done, just waiting to see how sweet the NYC unit looks then I will send out my 3 undeced units to my painter and I need to find one more D-9. These are east coast rds so im very interested. Im not a fan of alot of them but they do look GREAT on Modern loco's.

How about something like this?
Some railfans on Facebook have started photoshopping some locomotives in an attempt to convince BNSF to do the same thing. Or a little tiger strip action…
Ok, Time to take this thread back from you “left coasters” Temporarily anyway Ralph Photo courtesy of the Altoona Works.
