Here is a video on how it goes together.

Still pondering how deep to cut mine shaft in to layout?

And then I’m thinking, wasn’t “Head Frames” a song about mining by Foreigner?

Ah, that was “Head Games” by Fer-in-er.

Well, you need it deep enough for the car and operator to disappear, and deep enough that the viewer doesn’t see the car and operator when they are supposed to be at the bottom. I say about 4 feet should probably do it.

is there any update for the work of last year?

I was wondering what had happened to landrel myself

Hey Guys I am still here. Its just so hard to post pictures now days. I stopped posting

I’ll try to add a couple things

Thanks Ty

Well i have been working on an indoor layout for about 4 years of and on. I have been so busy making things for other people i have not done much work lately. Early on i bought a laser cut engine house scaled up from an o scale model. It did not look very scale to me. But i has set here for years. So i finally decided to build one from scratch. First picture is the old one…

Added stringers for the roof.

Nice work, Landrel. Glad to see you back working on your layout. Looking forward to more updates.

Thanks Dan.

Thanks Guys…

Thanks John you beat me to posting the link…

Ty

One thing I had to do is make the exhaust stacks a little longer than my original pictures, to make sure I had clearance on the roof. The kit is designed around a 1" plumbing pipe which makes splicing them easy.
