Mik's Build Challenge 2016

TIMES UP ! ! !

PUT THE TOOLS DOWN, and WALK AWAY…

You’r done.

Great job guys. Get some rest, and take some great pics tomorrow, sort, edit and post in the official photos thread. Voting starts later this week after you all get to post the final photos.

And then the rest of us will keep finishing up and adding the details that we ran out of time to get on our masterpieces.

I think that Mik is smiling about now.

Edit? Oh goodie, I can Photoshop what I didn’t finish.

I am just kidding. I don’t play dirty like that.

How does one vote in this contest?

Vincent - I think Dave will issue a call for votes once all the entries have been posted - probably tomorrow or Thursday. I have yet to post my entry - Was up 'till 2AM finishing then off to work this morning where I am posting from now. I need to clean my railroad from all the construction debris so I can pose my shelter for photos (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)

Mr Taylor

THANK YOU for putting the time you have into this!

Just fantastic!

Rooster, so when are you going to join in the fun? I aint seen you build a challenge in the short time I have been here.

I’m gonna steal John Passaro’s words here since I couldn’t have said it better and I quote “that I really really enjoyed the fellowship and good spirits of our LSC community this year would be an understatement. The builds are outstanding and everyone’s process over the last few weeks has been fascinating to watch.”

Hope ya don’t mind John, but that about sums up my feeling’s too…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Make it another in total agreement. GREAT challenge builds

I am indebted to Dave of Taylor Tin Works for introducing me to Large Scale Narrow Gauge modeling. He is to be congratulated for his commitment to all of us, in devising, machining, assembling a device to producing corrugated metal for G scale models and finally devising the MIK’s Build Challenge. Good on you DAVE, KEEP ON KEEPING ON! Larry Brewer “NOMFNM”

F.Y.I. I tried to access the-ashpit.com web site the Mik had up before he passed away. The domain expired 2-22-16 . He had some neat photos on there of his projects. Anyone know how to maybe access or find the pics?.

Mik’s site has been down since long before the domain expired. I managed to archive all of it before it went away. I have not made access public as I don’t have permission to publish it. If there is anything specific you want I might be able to make it available.

Not looking for anything at the moment. I was on the site earlier last year. It is a shame all the great stuff and his articles were lost…

I don’t know if Alan and Kim were ever married. I know he had been divorced from a previous wife. IF they were married, and someone has contact with Kim and she were to give permission I’d be happy to host his site (but not the domain) with mine for as long as I keep my web space.

Before anyone goes seeking out Kim with hopes of resurrecting this site - Upon further review it would take a boatload of work to put it back up. Mik was a believer of fully qualified URLs for all his links. In order for the site that I have to work as-is it must be ashpit.com. Otherwise every link and many picture links must be edited. I also seem to be missing his index page.

Sorry if I got your hopes up.

Oh that’s it John, I quit (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Photobucket still stands I believe

EDIT: shut up Rooster

Wayback does not have the ‘ashpit.com’ either…

6 MONTHS TO GO

Just a gentle reminder that Mik’s Build Challenge 2017 is only 6 months away.

My how time flies, it seems like it was only yesterday we were sweating the Finnish line details.

Omg the pressure is to much
