Yea Devon, you need to get a railroad built, so that the challenge build will have a home.
Maybe for the challenge we can raise the limit to $3000 dollars and we can start with a section of track.

But even if the crews are on such a downer, there is still that steam locomotive to re-rod, rolling stock to paint and letter, and I am sure there is a myriad of other things that need done.

There is no feasible scenario that I can think of that would prevent me from participating. Don’t worry John, I will be there. For good or bad (and I am sure there are those who see it both ways) the only reason I found my way to LSC was because of the challenge. It is just the sort of thing I love to do. Wouldn’t miss it even if David came and sat on me.
I am just ragging on Devon. Of course I want to see him in the challenge, whatever it is.
When it is announced what it is, I need to look at my “someday” list again and see if I can get another one off that list. Its worked for me so far.
I spent the day making sawdust.
There will be no excuses not to join in this years fun… None for anyone…
