I am at the point of looking to omit details. I will have the outside structure done and ready for show. Not sure I will get all of what I would like to do on the inside done.

3 WEEKENDS DOWN

15 Short DAYS to FINNISH
OK Guys, we’ve had three weekends to work, and only 15 days to “get er done”. Most are moving forward well, a couple are lagging behind ( me included ), and as always Vic was the first across the finish line, but it was the smallest also. I think that Challenge town will look really good on Feb 16th. Now would be the time to start sweating, if, like me, things aren’t coming together so well.
Watch it. I am not Finnish. My family is from Italy, Sicilia to be more specific.
I was thinking of updating the Challenge Township map next weekend to reflect the builds. I like your idea of getting all the builds together at a show, but the cost might be too much. Maybe we need a Challenge town benefactor!
Yup - With only a couple of weeks to go I actually started construction last evening. Sure am glad this structure has no windows (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)
The only part that will really be tedious are the rafters. They are too small to actually glue and nail up, so they will get glued to the underside of the roof structure. I think there’s only about 50 of them, plus the ridge board!
John, I should have warned you about the wind! We lost one large window on the house to it and it practically destroyed my town!
Health issues have delayed my project and now that I’m up to working on it it’s too cold to work in the studio! Tonight is supposed to be the coldest this winter!
With so many people behind, maybe we should all get a week extension.
Yes, I am just kidding…maybe.
i think, that i should wish, that some of you guys don’t get finished until after the deadline.
because, what i see until now are far more than one or two first place buildings.
this years challenge will not be easy to judge…
If it would stop raining here, I might be able to get where I wanted on the build. Our JD Gator is parked in my workshop and I have to back it out to work. I would put it in the rain but the wife gets upset and I would rather not finish the engine house than get her on my rear. I’ll have a building with a partial roof, floor and windows if nothing else.
… and beautyfull windows…
Dan - Tarps are on sale at Harbor Freight (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)
Do you think they have them in 1:20.3 scale?
I was thinking to tarp the Gator while you work inside. But either way would work (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)
Well … that one just went right over my head. Thanks for the idea.

7 Very Short DAYS to FINNISH
OK Guys, we’ve had four weekends to work, and only 7 days to Finnish her up. Now starts the scrambling, “No one will notice if I leave that off” excuses, a couple are lagging further behind ( me included ), and the race to the Finnish line will be will see us all pushing for the fiddly stuff to get done.
It’s time to stick the paneling down, and get er done.
I think it is going to be a photo finish for most of us.
Oh fudge. I am so far behind I don’t think I have a chance to finnish. And my building is just a simplr, catywhompus box.

Will the judges take a drawing?
I cut wood twice and now my stuff is pushed to the side so the electrician can bring 40 amps to my shop, as a req. of getting wired, Sis decided that fire insurance had to be attached to that shop, which required pictures which required Clean Up!
A week huh?
I’ll see your week and raise you a … uh … ahhh… oh never mind…
As Mom used to say too often… We’ll see.
John
I’m pushing it too! I think I’ll have it done and painted, but details? who needs details! Back to work now…
I think we are underestimating how much a determined modeller, armed with a Lifetime Certificate from the Procrastinators Society, can accomplish in one week. Except for an exhausting/exhilarating five hours watching the
BRONCOS WIN!!!
I got a lot done this weekend and will post pictures tonight.
A week to go? Come on, men…heck, that’s an eternity for guys like us!
I got my derrick done, I just need to upload the pictures. Now I get to build the shed.
