The humor part of my brain isn’t as good as the rest of you but my brain matter is beginning to jell. Some of you might even recognize where I got some of my basic ideas from. This is going to be fun! In a warped sort of way!
Warped, oh I like warped.
Devon, since this is only my second Mik Challenge build, I, by your rules, qualify as a rookie. I had a nice drawing on a napkin today, but when I got spaghetti sauce on me I ruined the drawing cleaning myself up. Oh well. Maybe I will have better luck next time.

Now Dave incorporating Spaghetti sauce in your build could prove interesting… your on the list.
Dan you too are on the list
I received my kit in the mail today…Wahoooo!.. gonna be fun…

Why to the new secret location : http://www.largescalecentral.com/forums/39/annual-build-challenge
thanks Sean,
thats a good idea whoever did that.
Thanks Bob I think a special section is a better idea.
WOW… I go to work for a couple of hours, and look at what I miss…
I better do some editing.
Thanks Bob…
This change is certainly going to make entries easier to find. Last year I misplaced mine for a couple days!
Thanks Bob!
I like it !
BOB, you might want to sticky this topic to the top
There has been a number of comments by this years Challenge participants on how small the car is. Well guys it’s 16 scale feet long. Why 16? I thought that it would be a bit more challenging to work in a little more confined platform. We have common 32’, 40’, some 65’ passenger cars, and the giant 90’ auto haulers we’ve gotten accustom to running.
With the whimsical theme in mind, it cut lose a lot of other constraints to do most anything, so I tied it to something much smaller to give a bit more challenge.
Picture Vic’s rocket powered sled… @90’ it could have the bottom section of a Saturn 5 on it. Mmmmmm Maybe that wouldn’t be so bad.
BTW: I’m still trying to come up with a plan for my car, and I’ve know what the challenge was since the 1st like the rest of you.
Thats My Story, and I’m sticking to it.
I like the short cars.
Very nice…Thanks BD!

edit to ask …perhaps Dave T could moderate this section if he is up to it
Thanks Dave for working it !
Does it need to function while under operation, or can it be for static display? What are the dimensions of the rail car?
I’d like to be in in 1:24 scale.
Thanks
Dave,
I love the short car idea. I used to build pine wood derby cars. We had a box rule. The ar had to fit in a box. Te challenge for me was to build cars as cool as I could build and make it in the box. I built a 1932 roadster a 69 camaro and my favorite was a Daytona prototype. All fit in the box. So while everyone else built the typical cheese block wedge I was going all out. Even built one with working LED headlights. I love the tight constraint that the 16’ car gives us.
So good on you for making it a unique and difficult size.
Devon
