OUCH!!! It’s still October!
Yep. It’s time for a Hot Toddy!
Jon says - “The generator started on the first pull so I headed out and picked up 10 gallons of gas. I tried that trick of hooking it up to the house wiring while the power was on to make gas by running it in reverse, but I couldn’t get that to work.”
Now I like that, I’m going to go apply for a grant.
Weather is comfortable here, headed out today for last scheduled camping trip to winterize the rig and put away for a little while. Sorry to see you guys struggling with this weather so early. Prepping for OPs Session next weekend. You all are welcome to come west and south for some train running fun.

I just may do that…What accumulation we got should be gone by the end of the day.

No power outages around here, but the wood stove was cooking and the hurricane lanterns and flash lights were ready…
Tracks cleared just have to get the trains out. Cant post pictures until internet comes back. Still no power from grid. Ended with15.5 inches of snow
I was on my deck in shorts and a tshirt last night, about 65 degrees out…

I’m keeping all that solar energy to myself on the desert!
Only an inch or two on the coast. But a good amount of calls coming in for the tree business…happy for me but never wishing for trouble for others…just the way it is and one of the reasons tree services are around. Gotta go check the boat though. Astronomical high tide and my boat was parked for the winter 10 feet from the sea wall. IN the 50s for a week so no need to shovel this time.
It’s morning on the desert and the solar panels are ready.

Now now… And before you guys down south start to feel smug… … I like winter, we have plenty of water to drink and water the plants with, we can grow crops, and our state isn’t on fire for half the year
Is it only half of the year that we burn?
It would be great to have the water but when it snows I get cold!
I understand Doug… I put on 20 lbs in the last 5 years so the cold isn’t an issue like it use to be.
Preliminary report here. Lots of rr damage. Three trees shed most of their branches onto the upper and lower loops, and Burke yard. Those trees will have to come down, which will involve dismantling the two loops to let the tree guys at em.
Not a great day.
So sorry to hear that Bob. Not a good day at all.
When they said it was a Noreaster they weren’t kidding. UGH!
Hope all you guys caught in that storm are OK. Sorry to hear about your damage Bob. Hey Shawn my wife loved the picture of your deck, she said it looks like a cake on top of your table and of course she can’t wait for that white stuff to start coming down around here.

That’s a bummer!! I guess the wind here kept a lot of the snow off the trees. That, and the fact it was a wet, slippery snow. And we didn’t get near the amount you guys up there did.
Sorry to hear that Bob. For those of you who have been here you may recognize some of the damaged areas from the parking area and on my retaining wall

I haven’t dug into the mess to see what damage may exist , but the trees will need to be worked on or removed
Bummer guys. If you lived near me I’d come over with my stuff and give you a sweet price. Took down my new neighbors trees for free just to get rid of them. He had to drag the brush out front but we did the rest.
