Calling for 6" to 10" here.....ye haa....I'll be at the local museum setting up the seasonal train display (Lionel) so I guess the wife will have to shovel :)
I’ve got my snow shoes ready by the back door, and the cross country skis waxed and ready to go at the basement door.
Now if I can just find my way to the store to lay in some holy water for the hot drinks, I’ll be all set.

We have “Glo bal” TV, here in Canada…
Got the wood stove going and generator ready. Snow should be here soon. Off to work Ugh.
It was nearly 70 here on Friday. This weather can’t last.
Because of my foot ulcer I am way behind splitting wood but I’m going back to it today with breaks to work on the new trolly.
God,
It’s to early for this crap, Plows on… shovels are out and i’m out of Vodka…HE HE HE
12 to 14 inches they say for my area.
It’s beginning to look a lot like xmas everywhere I go. wasn’t that a song ???
Nick
I dunno, us Southwestern guys could use some of that stuff. So dry this summer I could barely keep my plants alive on the railroad much less the grass. We hope it comes this way too…eventually. In the meantime the weather enables me to work on track maintenance. That’s good.

Grab a shovel and help yourself…

It’s started here. Looking out the window yesterday we realized that the summer cover for our pontoon boat would not handle the snow load, so this morning we took off the cover, emptied out all of the cabinets and covered the control stand with a tarp. The rest was left open to fill up with snow.
The generator started on the first pull so I headed out and picked up 10 gallons of gas. I tried that trick of hooking it up to the house wiring while the power was on to make gas by running it in reverse, but I couldn’t get that to work. While we were out we went by the grocery store for a few supplies. The place was a zoo. Stood in line for over a half hour just to pay.
I’ve got 100 gallons of propane and a stove in the basement if we need heat. If it get’s real bad we’ll move into the RV
I’m ready, so now I can work on some of my unfinished train projects.
Winter is early this year. Like the rest of the year weather is all messed up.
My indoor track is running ok though.
I can’t really understand why people run to the grocery store for extra food when most of us need to loose some flab. and the snow around here only lasts a day or so.
I’m just about to get ready for work. Sunday it’s track cleaning time and time to lube the Shay.
Been snowing since just after 8AM today. I can see 1 large branch down ( heard it fall) and there are a few smaller ones down also. From the house it doesn’t look like any track is involved yet, but I won’t know until I go up to the layout to see.Have about 3" so far and still going strong
4PM and three more larger branches down, this time they fell in the loop areas where the station was sitting before I brought it in. I’ll find out the damage after the storm. Anybody need firewood?
Greetings. Snowpocolips has started here also around 3pm. Nothing sticking to roads yet. Hi Jon, did the gas generator check myself this morning.I usually have 10-20 gallons here but, I been dipping into that for mowing. Had to fuel up the truck anyway. Planning for my not so dependable electric company to be out for a day or two. Dave Knapp- I totally agree. I have wondered that also. People stock up here in Mass like the grocery store is closing for ever. The kicker is you’ll see them back at the store once the roads open up. I have lived in N.E. all my life and made it through many storms, never felt the need to run out for food. I think it’s a little side action the grocery stores, snow blower stores and the weathermen have going with each other. “Profits are down let’s order up a storm!”
Layout will be fine, pulled in the buildings Thursday. Got to get ready for Trick or Treat which is big in our neighborhood. I get about 200 kids. Never had a problem but, not going to chance it.
Lots of trees down in the area and many without power …seems were fortunate here so far however it appears to be coming too an end.
So who will get the first train plow photograph from this storm online?.
I made it home from work safe. Drove about 130 miles in a snowstorm and only had to write one ticket, help a car that got stuck and one tree down across the road. Not too bad. Just got in the house built a nice snowman with the kids. So far a good foot of snow and still snowing heavy. So far I still have power but it helps that a lot of our leaves are off the trees. Wood stove is going nice.
Doug no plowing for me too much snow. Ill have to use the Shawn plow. I will have trains running tomorrow. Might go Xc skiing first.
