LGB Threads, again

GAH!!!!!

He’s not supposed to do those kinds of things before I get a chance to get over there.

I have confidence in Jens. He will come to his senses, soon.

BTW since some people commented on the "sudden appearance" of certain people when a certain topic is under discussion. It would appear that Jerry McColgan is one of them.

42 posts on LSC since 2000/11/10

2 posts in 2003 concerning “Splicer”

2 posts in 2004 concerning his classified ad

38 posts in 2006/07 the first one right after the discussion regarding the LGB insolvency started on Sept 22. And every post since strictly around the LGB fiasco.

What a dull life it must be to have nothing more important to do than to look up what Jerry McColgan said, when I said it, and what I said it about.

I don’t remember or care I may have said on LSC.

I do remember using a thesaurus to look up synonyms for obnoxious. I did find that amusing and appropriate especially when I found the German translations for those words.

Relax, I am not going to repeat what I said but, since you went to the trouble of researching my previous posts, I would hate for your efforts to go unrewarded so I invite anyone who is bored and has nothing better to do with their time to look up that (not too long ago) post and see if they can guess who I thought was being obnoxious.

Since you obviously ejoy researching what I said, perhaps you might wish to expand your research and report on just how many times I have specifically asked you to butt out and leave topics I start alone?

As usual, your “reporting” is one sided and flawed. You would imply that the subject of *** is what drew me back to LSC. This is false. What drew me back to LSC was a private email from TOC (about ***) in which TOC encouraged me to come to LSC and even provided me with a link to LSC.

First I am specifically requested to come to LSC and then I am attacked on LSC for voicing my opinion on LSC.

In most social circles it would be considered highly discourteous and inappropriate to invite a guest and then to publicly attack that same guest.

I will repeat POD’s suggestion. If you have something to say to me or about me or to respond to something I say on LSC please put it into a private email where I can ignore it and delete it.

You apparently find what I say to be worth researching and reporting on. I simply have no interest in hearing anything you have to say, when you said it or how often you said it. It is a scratchy old record.

I ONLY respond to you when you address something specifically to or about me. It would be VERY nice if you would do the same and only speak to or about me when I speak to or about you. The silence would be both deafening and golden.

Cheers,

Jerry

Hmmmm, does the above count as sniping about ***?

Sigh.

Steve,

Nah, I would call it a rambling monologue. But still nothing about trains in general or Large Scale in particular. And still not able to see the facts.

Of course today is not a joyous day in that camp!!!

What’ the buzz?

Steve,

I forwarded the Original and the translation to Bob. Just wait for him to post it in a locked thread.

Gentlemen, civil tongues, please… enough for all involved, eh?

I wonder if his new "ball and chain" will let him have his "Big Boy." Dang, that boy is a fool! Trading a gal for his trains! jb
Jens just called. He got his Big Boy yesterday. He's all excited..and I guess she is willing to put up with his trains...up to a point. So, maybe there's hope after all, or should I say "Charity" (her name). :D

If TOC and ** would simply STOP responding to ANYTHING I say on LSC I would be most happy to not repsond to anything they say on LSC and we would then avoid all confrontations between us on LSC.
With all due respect, sir, I think you are confused about the nature of a public forum. Any member of the forum has the right to reply to any posting. Unless you are the owner of the forum, the only way you can prevent replies you disagree with is to refrain from posting in the first place.

I am not confused about the nature of a public forum.

I simply continue to be amazed at the lack of common courtesy and respect that some individuals display over and over on public forums.

A public forum may give people a right to be obnoxious. If some people persist in provoking confrontations when the site owner has expressed a desire to avoid confrontations I will simply point out that I have no desire to participate in such confrontations and baiting. When my name is used to bait me into such a confrontation I may or may not rise to the bait.

Sometimes when mosquitoes are swarming I slap at them. Sometimes I don’t even notice them. Sometimes I go where there are screens that enable me to ehjoy my trains without being bothered by such pests and sometimes I go where the owner has used a bug bomb to eliminate their annoying buzzing.

Then there are the gnats. They too can be annoying with their pesky little emails (non-repyable naturally) but usually they are too insignificant to be bothered by.

Stagnant water provides an excellent breeding ground for mosquitoes. The less fresh air that is used to aerate a pond the more stagnant the water becomes.

There are always other ponds to choose from. One benefit of a stagnant pond is that it sometimes may serve to attract the pests to it and away from the fresh waters elsewhere.

Since this is a public forum, by your definition, I too have the right to say things that may annoy some folks.

…this is like the Freakin’ Energizer Bunny…

I log on, and …still going…

I am curious though, after reading on MLS, that all offers for purchase of certain German Toy Maker were refused…I await the truth in reporting from HJ and Bob…in a locked thread, of course.

Cale,

The original text and my translation of same were emailed to Bob at 9am PST yesterday as a TXT file. A second item concerning the same theme is ready to be emailed. All according to the rules Bob established.

Go to the Big trains operators clubsoapbox - they are posted there…

Thx Pod and HJ

Never been over there…looks like I have another bookmark to make?

Cale,

Having the News and the translations on three different fora cuts down on the likelihood of all three being affected by “some kind of outage”, all at the same time. The chances of “interference” are directly related to the number of members on any given forum.

Quite similar to the circulation numbers of newspapers.   The number of hits on the topic isn’t as large as it is here, but those who would like to read, read. And those who would like to comment, comment … if they are registered in the respective forum. Registration procedure differs between the three fora. Depending on the theme of the fora.

PS The outages can be manifold i.e. server can’t cope with the number of requests (aka DoS), forum gets hacked, database develops odd errors etc. etc.

Jerry,
please be advised to read the first posting on this thread. Baiting and ‘angling’ was the very reason that the topic cannot be discussed in an open forum. It may be a suprise but there is usually more than one side to an argument. Once again ‘innocence and denial’ feigns an attempt at personal rebuke. Your buddy (D.E.) is not here to help out you this time with his ‘friendly’ reminders about ‘personally directed’ language. I hope that you see yourself clear through this feigned personal attack, as I suppose that there is a life after the inevitable and we all must learn to coexist, once the shock of the new reality sinks in. You are not a helpless schoolboy and your supposed attackers are not bullies in a school playground. We are all mature adults and hopefully will act accordingly.

Tim-
I am reminded of a sibling who pokes fellow sibling with a stick, and when the stick-ee heaves a bucket at sibling number one, said sibling screams bloody murder in a hope that the other gets “punished”.

Seen it before, we’ll see it again.
Fortunately, many, many folks who may once have believed the first are now in questioning mode if not full rejection.

We are watching to see if this is a new “attempt”, as others have tried, to stifle anyone who doesn’t follow the Family Forum mantra.

No names mentioned other than yours…
But I do grow weary of folks who don’t want to know anything, don’t want to question anything, have closed their minds like a steel trap, and castigate those who DO ask questions and figure out for themselves the answers.

I intend to no longer respond to those barbs, as it just isn’t worth my time.

Dave,

A true anectode: In my previous life, to be more precise about 35 years ago when I worked for one of the importers, I was chided by a customer who had waited a v-e-r-y long time for modified replacement parts to arrive from Switzerland. How long? His words were: “I’m glad it took just slightly less than nine months. We all know what happens with overdue babies!” (At least he had a sense of humour!) To which I replied " Yes, that is a good thing, now let’s see if it’s a boy or a girl". Knowing the factory’s track record (no pun intended), we both burst out laughing.

OK Sept 18th through May 26th is eight months and one week. There is still time.

That was really funny, eh? Yeah those Canadian hosers really crack me up eh?
