Do you think they would generate a backdated “transfer document” stipulating the sum of “for future considerations”?

Thought for the day:If EPL had a total turnover of 20million Euro worldwide (last year for which they released figures and everything was “just peachy”!), that would mean approx. 8 million for NA. Using normal arithmetic that would mean 4+ years … nah don’t worry it won’t be that long.

To put “attitude” into perspective have a read!
PS I’m sure the Märklin strategy has been well planned und discussed at length - not in the fora, that’s why some/all of us are at a “constant loss”.

HJ In my opinion I interpret that Silvergate “conversation” this way, CUT AND RUN, they are casting adrift everything past/present related to LGB and going with their own distribution line. IOWs all them long time loyal LGB customers can now just bloody well go sod off and ship there stuff back to Germieland for repairs as far as they are now concerned, IMHO mind you. This could be interpreted as being either very childish or it could be interpreted as the closest public equivelent we’ll ever hear about to a ‘cease and desist’ order about being involved with any past/current or future LGB products, in just my humble opinion mind you…
Hey Victor,
i did not quite get what you tried to tell us, where i am confused with is this statement:" I interpret that Silvergate “conversation” this way, CUT AND RUN"*** Like Mentioned Silvergate is at this moment still selling LGB products (stock Items i guess) now picture that, if you buy today a new LGB engine from Silvergate, and you have a problem with that item, would Silvergate still tell you to go to germany? i belief that no customer would put up with such replay, i mean cut and run in this case would be hard to enplane.****
For my taste it does not look like cut and run, for me the whole thing makes no sense it looks more like a two faced game.

For issue 2, (re: repairs - my edit) all he did was shake his head from side to side. I just looked at him and waited for him to say something. No comment was forth coming. I finally stated, “Does that mean no?” to which he acknowledged that to be true. I asked if that was a recent change since as of May 28th their customer service still claimed that they would repair LGB products if they could get parts.
He said that of June 1st the would not accept any LGB product for repair. <<<
I asked if they sent out an announcement or posted anything on their web site and I got another head shake. .
(unquote)
IMHO, how hard is this to figure out that? beyond the obvious NO parts means NO repairs. Even Dr Phil can deduct from the responce the OP got was that Silvergate will have NO association will be made with LGB as it is currently associated with Marklin from this day hence and NO notice will be posted on thier website to this change. I dont know how much more finality you need to “get it”…its done, finito, end game, the fat lady has sung, eaten the chocolates, and left the building…LGBoA is dead, Silvergate and the hier apparent Piko now reign supreme over the San Diego coastline. And the LGB they are selling is mearly the last remnants, and thats ALL they are doing, is selling it off and getting whatever they can while the getting is good, once its gone its gone for good, any issues will have to delt with direct with Marklin for parts or service so I hope your long distance bill is payed up and you speak good German, IMHO of course
OK, So I emailed them today to see about sending to them. I’ll see what they say, hope they understand english.

Victor,
INHO LGB of America is not dead, I think they are very much alive & will keep Marklin out of North America until they get a good deal for the logo… Again IMHO…

“The Boys” and their cohorts got the surprise of their lives and the air went “swoooooosh” right out of the “Big Ventilator” balloon and things came crashing straight down to earth. Hasn’t been quite the same since.
But hey, those of us with patience will just wait for things to unfold as intended. No sweat, no problem, no hurry. (Sheesh that sounds like my “building the railway” motto)
Hey, did you guys hear an echo? I thought I heard an echo. It’s probably just the same old undocumented innuendo bouncing around the room.

Yep, there is already quite a bit of echo on Silvergate in this thread. It all augurs well for what’s to be expected and how “forthcoming” these people are.
Is that thread anything like the TWO TONE Kiss Ge 6/6 thread on Gartenbahn-Forum? Good Luck!

Whats to stop Marklin from simply reboxing European made LGB products into Marklin boxes and selling thru another distributor? or instead of to get around the issue of cast inplace trademarks doing a little retoling and instead of using LGB simply remarketing it as “EPL Trains” or “Lehmann Trains” or just as Marklin? Nothing I can see, they start selling it over here, same stuff, new name, people here wont give a wet fig if the product is the same or better, anyone still crying about Delton?

The two tone “700” in red reminds me a lot of the APE Baggage from EPL. Mind you I bought one anyway, along with a red one. They will end up in pristine GREEN after suitable revamping into close enough items.

Unfortunatly I’m reminded of the old phrase about a very hot place freezing over.Whats to stop Marklin from simply reboxing European made LGB products into Marklin boxes and selling thru another distributor? or instead of to get around the issue of cast inplace trademarks doing a little retoling and instead of using LGB simply remarketing it as “EPL Trains” or “Lehmann Trains” or just as Marklin? You really let the air out of that hotair balloon.

Victor,
If Marklin was to do that, should not they have already started??
Hans-Joerg,
Sure looks like that dog won’t hunt to me…
Again IMHO…

BTW did you ask “Phoney Tony” about the status of LGBoA? He just might tell you, wouldn’t he?

I have a sneaky suspicion that there’s a big chunk of News in the pipeline and some people are doing a bit of decoying. Won’t work, good hunting dogs only bark when the target is up the tree!
BTW on Märklin’s plans, first they’ll ramp up the European production segment - really good money in that! - the rest will invariably follow. It’s one step at a time - much the same way as I build my model railway in the garden.
Hans-Joerg,
I know, I know, “It’s next week”, right??

Who knows, maybe Marklin is selling all they can currently produce in Europe.
I do know the US dollar is sh*t after 8 years of Alfred E. Newman. I’d be selling everything I could in Europe.
