Fred,
That is a mental picture worthy of Halloween.
Forecast update shows a high of 60 degrees and a low of 42 on Saturday. So it sounds like an IPP&WRR forecast for July, that we never seem to see.

Not until you have a real picture … one to post in the “Off Topic” section.
I don’t think we have a forum that is that far enough off topic to handle that kind of picture… Besides if Ric posted such a pic I would put a curse on his locomotives such that his batteries would never hold a charge…
But then again…if Bart would shave his legs…
I’d take a bushhog…
We’ve got to get this back on track. It has taken a turn that nobody needs. Today, Andy C. comes over and we get the steam track up. I’ll try to remember to do before and after pictures. Why do we wait so late? It’s a leaf thing. I use the lawnmower w/bagger to pick up the leaves and the process goes a lot faster. Acorn crop is down this year, so hardhats are optional. Looks like everything is really beginning to unfold for another good event.
Leave a few acorns around for Torby’s feet…
guess in another 14 hours or so I’ll be heading to west virginnie and pickin up Bart and that big honkin shay of his…hope it fits in the van…
Geee…its the same one that went to Fred’s…and its 'Lost weight" since then! Welll…at least its smaller!
Here is where the steam track goes.
And here it is up for the session.
This is how it connects with the railroad.
2 days and a wake up.
I like the pool ladder…
Get there, everyone, but get there safely…I wish I could join you…Have a great fun weekend…
And lots of piccies…Please!
Forecast through the weekend. Highs in the 60’s and lows in the middle 30’s. Sounds like train running weather to me.
The weather will be dominated by a massive Canadian low system, which is not to be confused with a Mexican high.
The HippieDippie Weatherman Georgeorgeorgeorge… Carlin. 1967.
KEn arrived safely last night…we’re shoving off around 0800 this morning…Yes taking the laptop and digital so there will be LOTS of photos!
Up and at’um, Barty…no excuse for sleeping in. Ric wants you at the door before 08:30…there is a railroad to operate, and all hands must be on deck and awake…
Have a barley breakfast and a great day…
Fred,
Say “Hi” to the breakfast crowd. We are going to try to emulate the “Ottawa Saturday Morning Gathering” at a local truck stop. It will be a failed attempt, but we will give it our best.
As Bart said, they arrived about 3:00 something. Gave them the local “Grey Line Tour” and we were running trains about 4:30. Test runs of WV&KRR #7 caused some clearance issues. That is a big honkin engine. Shed southern opening had to be filed to allow vertical clearance and #7’s equipment was modified by side swiping some cars on a parallel track. It was called poling without a pole.
All is going strong, last of the batteries are getting topped up and all begins around noon. There is a tour of the Bluestone Southern scheduled for this AM for the visiting dignitaries. The fun has already started.
Reports to follow.
8:30 is late Fred…Ric expects us at 0730…Ric tracked us down at the local Pizza Hut and went for tour of the Marina…who knew they could build a lake that big out here…Then to Rics for Card C running with the 117. She’s now relieved of the reservoir radiator, and have identified some close areas to be aware of. Then out to dinner (man i wish I hadn’t had Pizza Hut). As mentioned above, we’re off to Breakfast and the Bluestone Southern this am…Having trouble getting the camera to download to the laptop, still looking at options…Stay Tuned…
So how is the weather?
07:50 shows 40ºF here and cloud. Could have been colder with clear sky.
