I'm so done with winter

I was in Pennsylvania recently, boy it was cold! Barely survived getting a Philly Cheesteak at Pats outside at 7pm…

And of course I was wearing a short sleeve Hawaiian shirt! (that way I did not have to explain that I was from California)

It’s Philadelphia Greg. They probably figured you were heading to Woodys on 13th St.

You should have hit Geno’s for the cheesesteak.

Rooster we went to Primanti’s last time in Pittsburgh, ate way too much, had a great time

Actually, we did go to Pat’s, but as we parked, an entire school bus of kids piled out so we did indeed across the street to Geno’s… Wanted to get one of each, but it was really cold, and I had a full length overcoat with lining over my Hawaiian shirt… still freezing.

I had a whizz with.

Monday night I went out to the desert for a brief overnight trip and a chance to see the spring wildflowers. I camped on Pinyon Mountain at about 4000 feet. It was about 36 degrees when I hit the sack at midnight. I have a really good sleeping bag which has kept me warm even when camping in snow on a couple of occasions, but for some reason it just couldn’t cut it this time. I ended up putting a blanket over the sleeping bag and still barely got any sleep all night. Got some nice pics of the wildflowers the next morning, although the spring bloom was still not at its peak. If you’re interested, you can see some of the pics here:

Hehehe…Good choice only way to have one !!

Snow began around 08:30 and forecast over last couple days went down from 3 inches to 1 inch or less.

And speaking of going down the web connection went down from about 10 to 10:30

Tuesday they are guessing that we will see 1-3 inches of snow here. The problem is, if the weather is coming from the west, we will get more then that, because the ridges to our east, stall the low winter weather. If its coming from the north, then may get more, from lake effect snow. If its to come from the nor’easter off the coast, then we may not get anything. I can guess just as well as the paid, professional, weather guessers.

Looking for the door into summer.

Latest is 12" to 20" for my area on Tuesday. Looks like another 4 day work week (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)

Now they are calling for 3-5 for my area on Tuesday. The company van does ok in snow, but that much may be too much. That’s why my personal vehicle is a Jeep, so I can get where I want to get to, when I want to get to there.

My brother just moved from California to Asheville, NC. He sent me a text this morning saying they were predicting 8-12", they only got an inch last night.

They’re saying the Chicago area is supposed to get 3-6", depending on where you live, between tonight and Tuesday morning. Bring it on, we’ve been in a snow drought since the beginning of January.

Yea I could use a snow day!

I wonder if my company does snow days…

Actually, I wonder how that would work. My company’s main office is in York PA, I am in Pittsburgh. How would they know how bad the roads are here when they are there?

I just arrived in Maryland to start my latest build your own kayak classes. Left home in maine Saturday morning it was 2 degrees, stopped at my parents near Hartford, it was 12 this morning. It was 37 in Annapolis when I arrived. Thought I would be out of the snow but it is predicted here too!

We are out at the Clarkson’s railroad today in Riverside for our monthly OCGRS potluck lunch meeting . A nice cool 93 degrees.

Expecting 12+ of the white on Tuesday… This weekend was below the 30’s…(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)

Snowmagedon II - 15-30" forecast for here in CT according to The Gov. Official map says 15-25". Gov has declared a travel ban, so no work tomorrow. Stay inside with a fire in the propane stove and run some trains!

The storm is shaped just like the state! How cool is that?(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

It doesn’t look like it will be affecting Long Island. That’s good.

I got an email that my company will decide tomorrow morning at 06:00 if we should stay home or not. But my company is over 200 miles away from me, on the other side of the ridges. We don’t always have the same weather. Oh, this is going to be interesting.
