Well–
It is a sure sign of spring is when you can see the weather vane atop the mill cupola poking out of the snow!
the trains will be running again…in October!

Spring, Spring, wherefore art thou?
Was supposed to get hit with 8-12 inches today…Nothing. Not a flake. I am not unhappy about this.
Like most here in Calif. We got lots and lots of rain. Out town got flooded and now finely the water is going down off the streets. Our back yard and around the layout was 4 to 6 inch deep and now that’s going down.
Photo show our temp. walkway. Hey… it floats to… lol.
TV Weather report saying more rain coming this week end. Kind of wish it was some snow and not flooding all at once would be nice.
Least we have this for back up due to back pond is full to. LoL.

Welcome aboard. My wife was born and raised in Minnesota and said you can have that deep… deep… cold… cold… snow. lol.
Amen Steve. Started out at 12 degrees this morning when I left for Physical therapy with a few snow flakes. Currently at noon it’s 19 degrees and only going to be a high of 34 today. But the good news is all that rain and 40 degree weather last week exposed a good portion of the railroad. Still can’t run for a while but its looking better.
The high temp here today was 61, and I felt like I was going to freeze to death every time I stepped outdoors. I’m SO glad I don’t have to live where it really gets cold.

At least we have water.
Oh, wait… sorry. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
We have lots of water now, all reservoirs full, but it is cold… why I even ALMOST had to put a long sleeve shirt on when I smoked a cigar outside at 8pm… the horror of it…

Did the rain extinguish the stogie, Greg?
To be serious for once, most of the storms come down the pacific coast, after Washington state is done with them, but luckily, when they get near san diego, the higher pressure from mexico normally turns them east.
So we did have rain, but when we get over an inch, it will flood the parking lots in the older shopping malls… now this is pretty much it…
So, the stogie survives, I actually can sit under the patio umbrella and stay dry… rare to have a lot of wind too.
Of course I got an email from the power company that they are raising rates 10%… after telling everyone to conserve, and we are the #1 solar town, now they are not making enough money… ya just can’t win!

Felt like late June here last few days. Temp hit 71 yesterday and all the snow is gone with the exception of a few patches. Crazy to be this warm for Feb. Steve is hogging all the cold and snow this year.
It’s been down right balmy here in tropical Buffalo. I just came back from some R & R time in Mexico and I thought maybe the plane landed at the wrong airport. Maybe I’ll be able to keep that tan for another week!!
-Kevin.
It was 79 on my ride home yesterday. Today its in the mid 40’s and getting colder. We night even see a dusting of snow tonight. Its like some kid is having fun flipping the switch back and forth. Warm, cold, warm, cold. No wonder so many people around here seam to be sick.
High 70’s yesterday and today here west of Baltimore. Incredible!
A storm just blew through, and we’ll be having temps in the 40’s or 50’s tomorrow. Which is really just fine for a February!
Yesterday.
Got 4 inches of that stuff last night.
It’s now 46°F and melting. I’m not even going to shovel the walks 'cause this new stuff should be gone by 1600.
Hot today, have AC on at work… feel sorry for us…
San Diego city council got together and declared Winter is over…

Fill your pool, before it pops out of the ground.
This is getting to be stupid. We are right close to having snow on the ground for 4 months straight. We got snow in the middle of November, the first snow to stick on ht ground, and today we had an inch of new snow. While most of it is gone, the lawn is white. This has been an unusual year thats for sure. Good thing we have global warming or we would be buried for the entire year.
A new 4 ‘feet’ of snow overnight which would not be so bad (snowplow special run ?) but the mainline is crippled, since the last melt the snowplow did not get out to move the of 2-8 ‘feet’ of remaining snow(fallen) in “BlackToothGap” and it turned into a crunchy, icey, snowpack hardened over the rails.
Oh well, they are forecasting another shot of warmth in a week, maybe then …
p.s. at least when it gets above 5c the snowplow crew could consider plowing the rest of the track as long as the turnouts/frogs are clear of ice . . . .
