Large Scale Central

I finally started

Looking good, DavidM…

Thanks for fixing the link. Great pictures! Looks like a nice area for a railroad.

Nice.
You have a lot of space there.
The Circus Train will look good.
Ralph

Was able to join and jumper about 58’ of track today. Things are moving along pretty good. Didn’t take any pics today but will try to get some tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll have the loop connected by Tuesday.

Thanks again for the comments and for looking. Any suggestions still appreciated.

Dave

…winking…

I am getting motivated here to order more track for phase two of my layout.

No…I am not being goaded… just loaded up with information…

Been working on the track the past two days and have now connected 118’

This is a continuation of the above pic showing the track going around the screenroom

Showing the cut behind the screenroom. It will be done as stone outcropping Hope you enjoy as I’m feeling good about it    Dave

Congrats on that much completed, DavidR… Lookin good…

Nice progress.
I’m going to assign David R to capture the moment when you run your first train.
I’d like to see the sh*t eatin’ grin on your face
Ralph

I think I’m gonna make some rolling stock as you suggested Dave!
I’m going to make it for “Storm” on a platform with a VERY CHEAP stuffing filled “Ground Hog” on top.
How many laps do you think it will make?

Has he (storm) seen cars run on it yet? Shorty was a bit tweeked and basically pissed off on the first (guessing) month of completed and running… Now that he’s used to it, he just pisses on it and the progress.

Ralph, He's gonna act like a 2 year old again! Almost like Herman Munster when he was happy and excited! I got a smile on my face you couldn't remove with a jackhammer!

Looks good Dave

In the cut by the screen room. Is that an old foundation, or just a really big rock ?

Jon, that’s part of a ripped out footer that I aquired when they put in my sewer line. I’ve been using that area for fill as it sat too low for trains, with the intention of topping off with 4’ or so of dirt. It’s been setting for 3 years so it’s pretty settled, but without the dirt it is a problem getting a shovel in there with all the pieces of brick and stone. As noted plans are to cover the cut with a stone outcropping

Dave no he hasn’t seen trains run yet but he’s somewhat skittish so I’m hoping he’s not a problem. He will learn

Ralph     is that enough? And that’s just from the thought. Two more days ( with fingers crossed )

Dave Thanks all

Very sweet.

On a roll here… The trans-canada train system is about to be completed in… ???

Dave,

Congrats on making the connection. I really like the flow of the track through the yard. Ballast as needed and I think you’ll have a good roadbed.

Able to complete another 40’ today. Had to stop as the knees and back were starting to hurt. But, on a good note it gave me time for

At this point all but the 36’ straight, and the 10’ curve at top right are connected. That will be done tomorrow. I took an old lionel reefer out with me today and let it roll. Track worked great, but the grade letsthe car clip right along coming down on the maple tree side. The other side isn’t so bad as I was able to work the grade. Thanks again, Dave

Nice sketch, Dave. What did you use? Where is the house in relation to the sketch? What are the dimensions of the screen house and the dimensions of the yard area you are using?
