Large Scale Central

I finally started

Barn is straight across from the screenroom just right of thhe maples. The house is about 80’ below the barn. Haven’t measured the area, but I’d say right now about 80’ x80’

Seeing the track plan kinda jived with what I had in my mind by following your track pictures. Nice longs runs and plenty of area for any scenery…Good job, Dave!!

Fine looking track plan… Gives you lots of ““run”” Space…

That’s awesome!!!..now get that smirk off your face!!!
Wouldn’t be to concerned about grade. What your running you shouldn’t have any issues. I remember Zachariahs Tweetsie pulling the circus train and not making the slight grade onto the viaduct. Never checked it either considering the loco and what we were asking it to accomplish.
Focus on that outer loop as winter is soon around the corner.
Still searching for a stuffed ground hog!

Thank you all for the comments and support.

Oh RRRRAAALLLLPPPPPHHHHHHH.

Today I finished the loop. All connected and ready to roll. As soon as I made the last connection I pulled out my power supply and TE to run a test train. Dang I hate batteries. I just got the TE a month ago and I put fresh rechargeables into it to make sure it worked.Figured I’d be using it soon enough and left the batteries in it. Just barely got a signal when I turned it on.
So tomorrow will be the inaugeration run Oh I did save the golden spike ( last screw ) for when I can get pictures. Pics should be able to be put up tomorrow on the summer run thread.

Dave

YOU LIED TO ME!!!
I worked all day and expected to home too pictures!
Love the new signature

I don’t bother with rechargeable batteries in my TE transmitters. I use Alkaline batteries and they last over a year. Always ready when I want them.

Congratulations on the Golden Spike

Ralph if I could so flips and handstands and… Seriously a good feeling

Dave more like Fred Flintstone on steroids

Gavin Thank you if you’re talking about the force of the goad it left for a while. Sure to return as it keeps friends going at times

Thanks Jon I’m going that root myself

Y’all should consider the SANYO AA size ENELOOP rechargeable batteries.

They are guaranteed to hold 85% charge for 1 year. No more going flat when not in use. Great batteries. I have been using them for 2-3 years now.

Where at Tony

Now we just need that picture of you smiling. David R could us another head shot for his portfolio ;) Hope you have some nice weather for your run tomorrow. Ralph

David.

Try a specialist camera shop. They were designed specifically for digital cameras.
Panasonic have a similar type of chemistry under a different brand name.

Thenk you Tony I will look into them. The ones I have are for digital cameras, but they’re old Rayovacs’

The train is running as evident in the summer photo thread. Guess it’s time to close this thread as the I finally started has become I have a layout and can run trains.

Thanks to all and I do appreciate the help and time Dave R has given in the past few days . Especially when I called him at work today ( only number I have ) and he walked me through the set up of the TE so I could run trains

Welcome Dave,
You have entered a whole other world today now that you officially have model trains running " OUTDOORS "
I cannot tell you how excited I am about this and I will continue to share knowledge as you have with me!
These guys here are awesome but it’s a rough crowd!!!
Good Luck!

Rough crowd!!! C’mon, we’re pussycats.

David,

The force was with you and may you prosper.

Regards,

Gavin
