Walter, Can I ask a question? Just how long did it take ‘the rest of the world’ to break the stranglehold of the Catholic Church’s influence in all things from cradle to grave? 1200 years? Longer? Have they entirely yet?
What about the Hindus? How does their fixed caste system that they still enforce mesh with your statements?
Intolerance is intolerance. Injustice is injustice. And so-called ‘Christians’ can be the most intolerant and unjust (and arrogant, and cruel, and violent, and corrupt, and selfish, and…) people on the face of this earth… Then they will quote some line and verse taken out of context to claim it’s “God’s will”… (Sounds a lot like what you just said about Islam, doesn’t it?) On top of that, what other ‘major religious group’ can claim that it’s immoral to abort an accidental pregnancy – And then have the gall to insist that it ‘isn’t THEIR responsibility’ to see that the SAME child gets adequate food, shelter, medical care and a decent education once it is born? There is a word for that, think about it.
Enlightened must be a relative term. But I’ve come to realize that logic can’t change many people’s minds when it comes to beliefs.
