The trademark database has not been updated since 2000…the LGBoA/EPL split is recorded as happening on 1 September 2006. It would appear that some clerk has been neglectful in updated the database…I don’t expect the Queen of Hearts to demand, “off with their head”…now do you?

Marvin,

In case you weren’t aware how DBs (no, that is not Dave Buffington!) work, they get updated when there are changes. They remain the same when there are no changes.

I’m just telling you…this DB is NOT updated.

Oh, I see. It all makes perfect sense now, really. I must have been asleep when we passed the looking glass, missed the white rabbit entirely, and have inadvertently been trying to make sense of the Mad Hatter. Now that the Queen of Hearts has turned up, I understand entirely what's happened and where I am..... and what that strange burning smell is.

I’m returning to the surface forthwith. I suspect, though, that since there are now two different parties declaring total and exclusive ownership and rights to the same “property” that at some point no degree of shouting or bluster will be able to prevent one party or the other from being demonstrated to have been incorrect when making that claim.

Meanwhile, enjoy the tea party, and pray excuse me …

Good point…and yes, it is sometimes best “Just to be a passenger on Life’s Railway”.

The view can be Grande.

Matthew,

One day someone will write a book called “The LGB Saga - what really happened!”

Some tea party.

Marvin,

Do you have any concrete proof? Do you have any idea when it will be “updated” to reflect the “current status”? Do any of your “reliable sources” know?

You know we have to correct/update several data bases - all of them government related - concerning our EMM business on a yearly basis, when there are no changes the original date of entry stands.

BTW very nice touch from EPL in Germany to provide a PDF so there is no confusion where the release is coming from.

About that rage, perhaps you could get some help on that.   BTW there is a difference between contempt and sever cynical skeptisism.

Nah, Marvellous Marvie needs no concrete proof, HJ, didn’t you know that?

But, hey, I would’t pay for anything if when I got home the contents of the bag didn’t match the invoice.

Typical of previous releases, on a Friday, and the screaming dies down over the weekend, so Monday calm will prevail.

I do guess Marvellous Marvie missed the part about the Three “Wise” Men being quiet.

I think you’re right, HJ.

He does have the problems we have discussed.

No proof yet…but the “reliable sources” do say that Herr Schoontag and EPL have interpreted the owner of the trademarks incorrectly. I expect it to get ugly and legal soon.

Yes, I know the databases “should” be updated, but that department, plus others, have cut back on manpower. So they just can’t get it done in a timely manner.

Rage?..I do not get upset on these babble sessions…I think they are hilarious…and people keep coming back for more…and that has always amazed, amused and entertained me.

Have a Better One.

Seems like TOC has gotten childish and likes to go to name calling when he can not mount a logical, common sense argument.

And as I said before, I don’t have time or a desire to spew on the multiple train chat sites like others do.

No, I got it that’s why one of us spoke up.

And the problem has ALWAYS been under your bonnet…and if I am the subject of your and HJ’s discussions…then you really don’t have much of a life…and that is hilarious

Name calling?
So many names, how can one be calling?
Marvin, Lone, Verne, how many others?

Curmudgeon, TOC, Dave, how many others indeed?

From now on I would like to be referred to as “Mario”

Bene, grazie. E lei, Giovanni Giorgio?

Cristoforo runs for cover

Well, it’s always Curmudgeon.
And, since TOC is The Old Curmudgeon, same thing.
I donb’t sign off with “Dave” in GR or Veterans forums, only “TOC”.

Must say, Marvin (and I think of Ford Prefect) that your reactions/responses are some that have created quite a stir among “reliable sources”.

This just in the “inbox” this morning:

“Dave…
THANK YOU for the wonderful entertainment you provide.
Some readers and replies to your “stuff” are so far out there…it’s just hilarious!”

Naw that’s only your definition of what “TOC” stands for. I use whatever “handle” suits me at the time. And friends know who it is in each case. The rest of the crowd I could care less about them knowing.

The reason for the “stir” is that the comments are “spot on”.

Whopee! You have a fan club…you could hold a convention sell t-shirts and buttons with your face on them. There could be group hugs…Pleeeeeze no pix…thanks.

Marvin,

Thank you for all the entertaining emails you sent my way in the past 5 - 6 months. As you know, I didn’t use any of them as “resource material”, but they made for “interesting” reading.

As much as you like your “reliable sources”, unfortunately they were not “spot on”, as a matter of fact they were quite often wide by a country mile and at times forgot some of the detail. The devil’s mostly in the detail.

Remember I’m not a “scale” type of modeler, I guess I’m a “gauge” type of modeler. So I don’t get into the details.

And on your newspaper clippings (translations), remember they only carry the message the interviewee or the reporter wants the reader to know. If you hadn’t bashed red boxes all these years, you might be in on the behind the scenes “rest of the story” discussions.

But since you don’t care for my comments, I will delete your e-mail addie and not trouble you further.

Ciao.

Boy.

I think we’ve been here before, Marvin, and if I recall, it wasn’t real pleasant on your end.

To avoid a repeat performance, and because your grasp of reality seems to be slipping, I am not going to respond anymore to your posts.

Boy???..more name calling I see.

It’s a pity that you have to be this way.

Marvin,

Ahhhhhhhhhh but you just never know when an enterprising investigative reporter will start digging a bit deeper, do you??

Of course I get plenty of “stuff” sent my way, but that doesn’t mean that I post regarding those tidbits. As you correctly noted, our company has a small stake in the model railroading sector, soooooo we can’t afford to go along with “reliable sources” that are not that reliable. Even if I get asked for additional info, I’m very careful who gets to hear or read the stuff I get fed. You goof up with LS info, you could look like a goof with any info in the other scales, too.
Besides considering the “Wolfgang fired” and a few other “nuggets” from “reliable sources”, personally I wouldn’t want to look that silly.
