Rumours around LGB

Is Schöntag bailing out?

Nürnberg - the future of the insolvent Nürnberg model railway producer Ernst Paul Lehmann LGB seems again to be uncertain.

As one hears from the USA, the potential buyer Hermann Schöntag has apparently insufficient financial possibilities to assume the ownership. In addition one hears that other interested parties are reluctant to come forward due to the complicated situation.

Further information indicates that interested parties in the USA will attempt, via the former distribution arm, to use the trademark rights on a worldwide basis, with the exception of those valid in Germany, and to resume production.

PS More as it develops!

And another mop flops…

Methinks someone is acting like a bit of a bunny.

Maybe a Flip Flopsy?

With apologies to Beatrix Potter and her tales of Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail & Peter.

Sounds like another “reliable source”.

Who knows where the Nürnberger Zeitung got their information, perhaps from a LGBoA press release?

“In addition one hears that other interested parties are reluctant to come forward due to the complicated situation.”

Didn’t read that in the LGB press release. Really reliable reporting!!
Sounds like hearsay to me.

Here’s some more rumor for you guys :
Perhaps another company paid off Schontag to default so they can buy the company cheaper!
Maybe the investor that wants EPL in Germany was originally in cahoots with the bank to force a sale?!?
Maybe EPL was heading in the right direction so the investor had to force them into bankruptcy faster so the potential investor could get what they wanted.
Happened to Marklin just last year?!? Hmmmmmm I believe it was the same investment group that bid on EPL and got bumped by Schontag by the city court. Hmmmmmm perhaps they can get it cheaper now that the BANKS have denied Schontag financing?

Oh what a tangled web we weave!

“Hmmmmmm perhaps they can get it cheaper now that the BANKS have denied Schontag financing?”

Odd. What “reliable source” do you have that says that’s what happened?
The problem is, folks who like to spin the discussion away from any facts and into a catechismic display of repetitive spewing of the company line.
Strangely, some seem to feel if you chant the mantra often and loud enough it can become fact.

Doesn’t work that way in the real world.

As I said “Rumors”

Rumor or naught, continous spewing of the mantra doesn’t get the situation changed any…

And what makes your spewing factual?
If I don’t believe you or your fellow spewers I’m wronge and part of an evil conspiracy?
You should heed your own words my friend!

What am I spewing?
I’m asking questions, not quoting “reliable sources”.
In fact, should you care to look, you will see I regularly mention that if it isn’t referenced somewhere from a public source, I keep my yap shut.

Now, exactly what “facts” have I brought up without referencing a public notice.

The Communist News Network regularly quotes “reliable sources”, and if your “reliable source” isn’t willing to step up to the plate and say it his or herself, but rather whisper as gossip in the ear of those easily led by the nose, and let THOSE poor souls get themeselves either vilified when folks find out is was either false or a set-up deal, or the law-yahs come knocking.

Right now it appears someone is looking to sue.
If I were you, I’d not quote “reliable sources”.

As you will note- I did not quote a source. I was actually making it up as I went along. Pretty much what everyone else aroound here is doing.

"Tony Castellano “President of LGB of America” recently published an official Press Release.

E.P.LEHMANN GmbH & Co. KG comment on this Press Release as follows:

Contrary to LGB of America’s interpretation all US-trademarks and US-copyrights worldwide reverted automatically back to E.P.LEHMANN PATENTWERK OHG upon transferring ownership of LGB of America to G45 on September 1st, 2006. Therefore, E.P.LEHMANN GmbH & Co. KG as the successor in title is the owner of all trademarks and copyrights worldwide.

E.P.LEHMANN GmbH & Co. KG is confident to release an amicable statement together with LGB of America regarding the different interpretations within the next days.

Curiouser and curiouser.

Do I smell lawyers at 10 paces?

Lawyers at 10 paces? All I know is SOMEONE is not paying attention…

This appears to be 180 degrees from what he said 2 days ago to Klambake.

Hmmmmmmm…!!

Only the lawyers are going to win financially as this gets weirder and weirder…the company & customer lose Big Time.

JJ,

Very nice try at spin!

Of course I remembered that there were certain “differences” between the EPL release and the LGBoA release in September regarding the “insolvency”.

No, I’m not a certified translator with a diploma hanging on the wall, but I can see glaring differences at first glance. And since I do a lot of translating, translating a few of those “don’t jive at all” releases is a piece of cake.
Oh yes, there will be distractors, but those are of as little consequence as a skiter stinging an elephant.

Soooooooooo as “Pod” mentioned - a scant hour before my translation was posted - there will be more published! I gladly keep on translating.

JJ, :) :)

I just translate the stuff. When it’s time to guess then I mark it as such.

But I admit when I read some of the counter arguments that are posted in reply to the translations, I can’t help but laugh.

Clutching at straws is just the start of it.  Should be almost enough to thatch a roof!

But Marvin,

Here I thought that you were all in favour of getting this sorted out once and for all, in a fair and proper way?? Had a “Cheney attack”? - remember the one about the principles?
