Jon we are friends right

Yes. But I don’t want to start a bidding war
What would be real embarrassing is that 3 truck Shay pulling all those broken diesels to the yard. His MU would be one working steamer pulling a string of dead desiels
And if you dont believe me ask him how his Dash 9 is running? Lol
Sorry Pete. We are only a couple weeks away from you punching me in the nose.
Well the Dash 9 is up and running as of Saturday, sounds like it was faulty soldering or wiring by the fool that thought he know enough to take it on… ME! Have not picked it up from my friend but he ran it for a couple of hours after taking it apart. Should I introduce myself before the bloody nose is induced, or just sucker punch you?
Working my way down my list. Got all the draft gear printed for my collection of refrigerator cars.
Working on the design for the caboose currently, and then will shift gears to the oddball cars in the fleet and finally finish with the locomotives.
Meanwhile while I’m printing, I’m poking along with the feed mill. I just might actually get something crossed off the to do list!
I should add to my prior comment, I’m learning a few new things about resin printing.
First off it’s easy to get greedy with jamming as much as I can but I’m slowly discovering that less is sometimes more.
Second, as Devon recently pointed out tolerances are not quite dialed in. I really should do a few test prints and calibrate the files, print times etc but honestly it’s just easier to build bigger tolerances into the print.
I just looked at the list I put up at the start of this thread. I have managed to knock off 25% of the list! Not by finishing, but by moving them to new homes! These were mostly projects that I had lost enthusiasm for, so moving them out was the right thing to do.
One that remains is an LGB TOFC flat car. The plan was to modify it for Fn3 standard gauge dimensions, then put narrow gauge trucks under it. Not a particularly hard build, but the idea was for display and I’ve about run out of space to display things. Anyone need an LGB flat w/plastic wheels and no box cheap?
Looking at my original list, without other things I have added or found, let’s see where I am
Goose 2 battery and RCS (DONE )
Goose 5 new battery (DONE )
Goose 6 new driveshaft (DONE )
7/8 critters (2) new batteries (DONE )
Railtruck new gears (DONE )
Railtruck into a fire car (CANCELED )
Shay new battery (DONE )
Don Winter kits (DONE )
Davenport to DCC (waiting parts)
Bulkhead flat (DONE )
3x Boxcar truck sets repaired (DONE )
Coal mine entrance (in progress)
Coal mine conveyors
Bunkhouse (DONE )
Signal bridge
Transfer caboose
Car Cards/Waybills
Getting there…
Feels good to cross things off the list. Just printing off draft gears and some parts for other projects feels like progress.
Now to actually get building said projects is another step. But having parts on hand sure helps!
I just keep adding to my lists. But I’ve been like this my whole life!
Notice I didn’t mention my wish list of projects. This is simply my I have started and need to finish list.
Well I’m about 3/4 of the way through this project now. I’ve got all my major rolling stock switched over with just my LGB stuff (90% 40’ boxcars with a few 50’s) remaining along with locomotives and USAT covered hoppers. Slow going but it’s finally coming together. I have just enough Kadee’s on hand to finish the locomotives but the remaining cars will have to wait. I have no clue why I waited so long to do this. I also managed to get something else that wasn’t on the list which was replace the trucks with roller bearing style trucks with 6mmx3mm roller bearings as well. So now everything that has a Kadee #1 on it also has free rolling trucks. Thanks to 3d printing!
Boy that’s a lot of horn for what ya’ got but I like it…I think you need Nathan K5LA’s on top of that thing !
Beat me to it. Was gonna say I hear a multi-chime but don’t see it! Time to print one up.
I justify some of the odd non-prototypical horns/whistles I use based on the past regular use of guest horns on EBT’s M-7. It’s pretty wild to hear that little switcher blow for a crossing with a multi chime Leslie!
Yea, I like putting in not-exactly-prototypical sounds sometimes. My 45 tonner has an Alco 251 in it, apparently, but its only running on 5 cylinders. Still undecided on the horn on this thing, but I cant find a decent “meep meep” one either.
Well i haven’t chimed in on this thread yet, but wanted to show some progress on the last indoor structure planed for my railroad.
here is the before view:
And the current condition. there is still much work to do. the chutes are made but do not fit, resulting in a fast trip to the laser cutter, so those and the end sheathing will be added next.

Bob at the last club / public event a HO guy came over was was looking at my train as it rolled by, came over and asked who owned it, he then pointed out that the GP-38-2 didn’t sound like that , and I messed up the sound installing it. I told him I like the sound I installed in it better , so that is why, he was not pleased with the answer!
