We got close to 3’ so far…couldn’t even make it to work today!
Dang I didn’t make it in to work either.
Sooooooo, Bruce… Have you had any snow???
The big news here in Rochester, NY is that Washington has had more snow this season we have had. You guys are sure getting socked. Just stay home and enjoy the scenery.
Here’s an amazing headline about the snow and a hangar at Dulles. My son is a pilot and told me that the plane with the blue belly is a Kodak plane, so there’s another link between Rochester and Washington.

Stay safe and warm.
They obviously didn’t use enough duct tape .
No snow.
But we had some wonderful 80 mph plus winds last night. Power just came back on this morning.
Still dark, so I don’t know what damage I have. I do know the fire dept. cut a couple trees in front of
the house that fell in the road.
My sister-in-law’s trampoline blew from the backyard, bounced over the top of her house, and ended up in her front yard. Took out her satellite in the process.

Just spoke to Bruce and they are okay. He’ll get on the confuser and update some time this morning.
I imagine Brian is back on the tractor.
At least we didn’t lose power.
I was thinking that the last time we had the car out was last Thursday. Might have to hike to the grocery again; too bad beer is so heavy.
Still windy here…
Ric Golding said:Not yet. Will be soon though. As Bruce mentioned we still got those 30 mph winds blowing out there! Its supposed to die down a bit. Enjoying some coffee before I start putting on those 10 layers.

Since you are walking anyway, you can drink the beer there.
I just finished clearing the drive way, but the cars are still snowed in. My little John Deere lawn tractor/loader is getting a work out making 5 foot high piles in the yard. I wish I had a bigger machine, one like Donovan has.

Did you ever notice that its only heavy if you carry it outside your body. Drink a six pack, hike a mile. No problem. Lug that same six pack home a mile to drink and your arms will be about ready to fall off
I’ve only been really snowed in once in my life. 1977 Buffalo, NY. We lived 30 miles outside the city in the sticks. On the main road back to civilization there were drifts 20 feet high and 100 feet thick. It took the Army Corps two weeks to open all the roads. There were ranch houses on my road completely covered with snow drifts. The only way you could tell there was a house was by the tunnel to the front door and the smoke coming out the top of the drift.
We were lucky. Directly across the street was a gin mill. They had plenty of beer and those sandwiches you heated in an infra-red oven and a pool table. Kept us alive !!

wish you all well up there in Southern Canada…I mean North of Me
Bruce, you just need to “borrow” a sled from the kid next door. Much easier to drag your supplies than carry them.

Getting it cleared. Still no plow at all for either storm.

The snow blower is a life saver, though with the wind swirling around it’s hard to say which way to point it. I think Brian got more than we did. He can keep it. I had the sidewalk cleared as well, but I think I’ll wait to tackle that. I hate a corner lot.

There’s a rumor that there’s a front end loader coming up the street…clearing the road and dumping the snow on the sidewalk. Another reason to delay.

But think of how much gas money you are saving! No, I know it is no fun, let’s face it we are a mobile society and cann’t function well with out our transportation! Hang in there Bruce.
Paul
Woo hoo! Front end loader is here…clearing curb to curb down to the pavement! I made the right decision not to clear the side walk.

It should be melted by March.
Its the little things (or sometimes the great big things) that bring the most joy. Glad to hear.
So what would you think about BarBQ for supper?
The snow will melt someday, it always has. Give thanks that you people are not dealing with volcanic ash.

40 degrees F and high overcast here. The grass is starting to grow. I’ve done some trackwork.
Last year at this time, I was buried under 4 ft of snow.
