Geoff,
I bet the trains were a hit. The layout is looking great.
Do you have any Christmas trains to run when the lights go up?
Ralph
Ralph Berg said:Yes I do. I have 14 christmas box cars, 1 caboose and 8 pass cars. 4 small ones and 4 large ones. I have a S4 christmas loco and a bmann 4-6-0 that I am having a BBT drive put in so it should work great this season. I will also be using my other BBT loco a SPC 2-8-0 in silver and Maroon. That is untill I come up with a 3rd Christmas loco. I do need to find a way to light the pass cars I think that would help people see the trains. Lighting kit don't seem to be working not bright enought off track power so will have to work on that.

This years Christmas wish list is a New Christmas Loco and a New Caboose and a LGB Christmas Dover and Combine Car. If I can find these things I would be very happy. but if not I’m still very happy with how it all seems to be working. now its just wait and see if I did my track work right and the cold don’t mess with me to bad.
Well, I wasn’t able to make it out to the EBT. But I did get to run some trains. Even managed to watch Greg E and his trains on Livestream. Old White Pass number 14 pulls out of the yard. Recently rehabed caboose #101 makes it’s first run. You can see the back, to back, to back switches really kick out the cars. So far, I’ve had no problems forward, or backward.

The yard and yard approach are brass. Robbie at RLD gave me a good deal on some AML brass.
I also bought some used LGB from Bruce when the ECLSTS online market was going on. A great deal too.
I think the Aristo aluminum track is here now. Need to buy some and finish up the PVRR line.
Ralph
Great pictures everyone. Now that I have a few days off I will try to get some more shots as well. Of course I have to get the leaves out. GRRRRRR.
Shawn said:Awwwwwwwww Quit 'yer whinin'! You've done more this year than any of us, go and enjoy the fruit of your labor! ;) and take pictures!

Here is a shot of the Pink Cabooooooosssse (that is how she says it)

Garrett, the paint is in the foreground…Regular Krylon? This is a Buddy L caboose, no prob with Pink paint sticking, but purple over the pink is what fish-eyed on the loco and cubby roof? cale
Lovely day at the Chicago Botanic yesterday.
It was a cold day for running on the CVRR but it was quite nice having some fellowship with Jon Radder,Ken Brunt and Dave Marconi today. Here are 2 shots of my stuff and have plenty more however it’s only fair to give Jon Radder and the others time to return home before posting shots of their equiptment. Or for that matter the picture of Ken showing me he is #1 … strange as I don’t think I have ever seen it done with that particular finger though?

A double headed mixed freight passes Lemo on it way to cross the deck truss.

Now on the deck truss and being passed by Amtrak #75
Dave,
That last picture is a new view of your railroad I haven’t seen. I remember the buildings and the viaduct, but not that complete setting. Very nice. Did you get over to the EBT?
Dave wish I was able to make it over your way. Glad you guys had decent weather and fun.
Want to thank Dave and Mother for having me over. Lunch was great and really not expected. It was good seeing Ken and Jon and meeting Marilyn. Had a good time talking and running. I didn’t run long and although I snapped a couple pics I was more into watching and forgot I had the camera most of the time. Here’s one of Kens’ on the viaduct
(http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/uu101/dltrains/Kensrun.jpg)
And one of Jons’ coming through the tunnel
(http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/uu101/dltrains/RS3sattunnel.jpg)
Really sorry I didn’t think to get more, but hopfully that can be corrected in the future.
We had a great time at Dave’s. Sorry we couldn’t stay longer. As it was, I just finished paring & unloading the camper at 8 tonight. I’m still downloading pictures from the camera! Over 1000 pictures taken between EBT and Dave’s place. Will be tough to pick a few to post.
OK - Here’s a few from the Columbus Day Run at Dave Russell’s… [url=lsc.cvsry.com/DaveR-Oct-09_01-1200.jpg]

Once again I really enjoyed the fellowship and Shawn/Ralph I’m sorry you could not make it out. Ric, I did not make EBT this past weekend but will do REAL soon as you guy’s got my antenna raised on it. As for the RR like all in the workings a few changes were made and I really have not found exact positions for some of my structures yet as they just don’t fit in the industrial section. I think what may have caught your eye was the continuation of the concrete off the viaduct as that is new. That whole section is still in the workings though. Since Jon is back home and in on the thread I feel it is safe to add some shots I know he doesn’t have. For starters the operating crew that day consisted of Jon,Dave M, Ken, My boy Zachariah and myself.
A picture of Ken showing me his consist that he brought that day is #1 however I still have never seen that particular finger used to express being #1…perhaps it’s a truck driving thing?
Here is a shot of Kens consist heading into Lemoyne while Dave M’s Doodlebug carries local passengers across the viaduct headed north.
Later that day we had a surprise as Friar Fred came down from the Lemo tower and climbed aboard #216 to add his blessings.
In final thought’s it was a good day and much info was shared. This is a shot of Jons Alco lash up heading south out of the tunnel and slowing to receive emergency wired orders at the Washington St. station.

Thanks guys for a good day even though it was awful cold here for this time of year and thanks Cale for starting the fall thread! Like Dave M I didn’t take many pics as I was wrapped up in the situation. However I would like to see what Jon’s camera saw and also the shots my graphics shop buddy (Scott) took as he was blowing off pics left and right.
Now that is timing only a few minutes apart…OK I’ll fill in the blanks on Jons pics…My sign guy is Scott and secretly a model RR fan. My accountant Bob is a HUGE Lionel fan that I’m steadily converting to outdoors and the young man in the picture is not my son but one of three Shatzer boys that live 2 doors down and are great neighbors. Read the shirt Jon;)
As for the #1 shots Ken taught me something new that day as I didn’t realize you could show #1 with the middle finger so I tried to show Dave and Ken that the CVRR equiptment was #1!! Thanks Ken!!
David Russell said:And I'd like to thank you, Dave, for inviting me up, only next time do it when it's a little warmer out. I didn't take any pictures as there were plenty of cameras going and it looks like the day was very well documented. You have a very nice RR, Dave and I had a lot of fun!!

Jon, I’ll fill in some names for you. Here we have Larry, Moe and Curly  As you can see, Moe is about to give Larry and Curly the famous “eye poke” Ralph BTW- I think this photo would make a great avatar for the “Building Inspector”
