Fall Fun!

So I’m not much up on Summer…actually I despise it…but Fall, now that is my favorite. In honor of the already falling leaves, the kids and I swept off the track and let the switcher pull some cars. here is my Caidyn (2.5yrs) at the helm, the horn button is her fav!

Going Away in the afternoon sun:

Approach at future Magnolia Junction:

Passing at Magnolia Junction:

the “Never-mind Dad, we’re gonna do it our way” shot from the former location of line:

The box of Rolling Stock we’re prepping to paint before it gets cooler:

As you can see from the above shots, not much has been done this Summer, and for good reason! We’re getting back to work…more stock requires more track, more track equals more fun…more loops coming soon (with some R1 switching!!!). There you go…please post your fall photos to keep us all inspired, I’ve really enjoyed viewing the Summer Thread!! cale

Cool!
I was waiting for a Fall thread thanks Cale…

Fall is here. The maples and birch are starting to show color but we still have another 3 weeks before we hit peak. Here is a taste of fall running on the KMRR. More will come as the season progresses. cant wait for those first snow shots in the fall. Vic. Does that engine look familiar?

So, the lumber company ran out of money, eh? :stuck_out_tongue:

After two weeks of rain, I was able to run trains Sunday. Made a few passenger runs on the Sunny View Line with the Sunshine Flyer. Ran a few freight consists too. But my camera batteries gave out. The plastic axle on the pilot truck broke on the White Pass “Annie.” Just a few hours run time on a new loco and it already needs repairs. As you can see, the GRR needs a little cleaning up. However, I decided the work could wait  Ralph

Thanks, Cale.
I will probably contact Barry about a pilot.
A BBT drive is also on my wish list, when finances allow it.

Thats what a hate about the Bachmann engines they seem to always break. Yet some never have trouble. I have a BBT Pilot and it worked great except the gear on my big hauler is broke and has other issues. Its a shame because I love the look of the bachmann engines. Like you when finances allow I would love to get an annie with a BBT drive.

I’m one of those who has never blown up an Annie. Perhaps the difference is that I don’t have any circular track, so my engines never just run. I might do to circuits to the Wye and back before I change engines, so they don’t get much mileage.

I have two Annies, and two Big Haulers (With latest drives)…all run well and have high milage on them.
All are battery (Gel cells)/Radio control.

There isn't anything less expensive, or better on the market, if you want 1:22.5 steam power.

Praise indeed.

I am more than happy with my “Annies”.

I have two Annies and two Big Haulers.
The broken Pilot axle is the first problem I’ve had with an Annie.
But I do have a late model Big Hauler with a split gear.
The early Big Hauler still works. It’s noisey, but has always been that way.
Ralph

Oooops. Lost one. No injuries reported. After all the rain, I have wires popping up everywhere. Ralph

Cale, Shawn, Ralph,
Great pics, glad your having some good runs. Rains have held me up. Looking forward to more runs it’s a great way to see what others have done
Cale it looks like your raising interest in the hobby hope the kids carry it with them.

Our “Fall Fun” for many years has included a trip to Marty and Carrie Cozad’s. Here are a few pictures from last weekend. The newest engine on the roster of the KVRwy is EBT 10.

You may have two-thirds of our snowfall; we'll keep the other third to protect the plants.

He is a couple shots.

You guys get too much. I like our winter average of 65 inches of snow for a season. Just enough to were the ground is covered from end of dec until begining of march.
