ECLSTS - March 2009

Shawn -

I’d leave your engine in the car until you get situated. You can exit and re-enter as often as you like.

When you come in the front entrance, the vendor hall is to the left and the layout hall is to the right. When you enter the layout hall, go left and all the way to the back where the glass doors are. That is the “Alcove”. Ric is the funny looking old guy with a remote running the train on the switching layout. Andy and I will probably hanging out there too as many of us do when we get tired of wandering around.

Just stop by and introduce yourself. If you want, you can print up an LSC Name badge from the home page.

There is much to see and do. You might want to attend one or two of the seminars, cruise the many vendors, and check out the awesome club layouts.

Shawn,

Ditto to what Jon said. Leave your engine in the car, until you are established with the layout. Funny looking old guy? Okay, I can work with that.

Thanks guys. Im trying to figure out the best route. My thinking is rt 209 south from Milford PA to 80. Then take 33 to 78 west. Get on 222 south through reading and eventually into Lancaster. then take 30 west into york. Where is the fair grounds from that point? Does this seem to be about the best route to york?

Shawn,

Most folks wear name badges from their club or a forum. You can print out a LSC name tag here - http://www.largescalecentral.com/ID/

Are you that close to Milford ?

If so, that’s the route Google suggests and it looks good to me

When you get to York stay on 30 and take the exit for Carlisle Rd. Make a left at the bottom of the ramp. The fairgrounds will be on your right about 1 mile down the road. We usually turn right at N. Highland Ave. and then take the first open gate on the left into the fairground. Memorial Hall is on the far side of the fairgrounds. Big sighn & look for the cars.

Looking forward to meeting you.

Looks like we’ll be arriving early afternoon on Friday; departing about noon on Saturday. Hope to see all of you sometime!

Cool…I’m ready for it! Looking forward to meeting you gent’s, personally thanking some with a handshake and “taking lots of pictures of Mr Chandler” ( as he stated " you never know when they could be used" )…tee hee hee!
Only doing Friday…perhaps Sat. if needed so I guess I should get a 2 day pass? Not doing the drag and brag as I have to return at the end of the day Friday.
Just a travelers warning… RT 30 can be jambed on a Friday during rush hour times especially in the Lancaster area. Please don’t forget that Strasburg is just off 30 in Lancaster area.
hope to see you there!

We are down to an afternoon and a wakeup before we are underway. Most important stuff is packed. I’ve got one piece still on the workbench getting a new battery and a building that needs to be labeled. Clothes and stuff are always last minute. Jan has different ideas. We will be at teh EBT on Thursday morning and at York in the afternoon for set up. Should be a good weekend. We’ve got a wicked weather pattern just west of us and I’ll guess we might get to drive through that again tomorrow.

Ya’all be safe in your travels and we’ll try to do the same.

Looks like I’ll be driving in the rain early Friday morning, but I might get clear of the western edge as I approach York.

Dive safe. See you there

Jon,
I hope you “dive safe” too!

Looking forward to seeing you guys in the “Aclove” at York …

We are underway in two hours, all of it is packed (except Andy’s stuff). Email is down, hooray! And this will be looked at with limited time. For some, we’ll see you in a couple of days. For others, we will report results Tuesday. That is, if the Lord is willing and the creek don’t rise. See ya.

Well, the creek shouldn’t rise but they are calling for showers on Sat. Friday’s high will be 62 and partly cloudy…

Has there been an ECLSTS that it HASN’T rained one of the days? I certainly don’t remember one.

The first ECLSTS I went to in Atlantic City was pretty nice…

Guys let me now how the E show went. I was unable to make it my son had us up the last two nights. Was not up for all that driving for only one day. Wish I could have been their to meet everyone. Maybe the fall I will be their.

From my point of view, it was a VERY good show. I got to meet a few more Davids from the board. I just don’t have all the pictures. :frowning: Here’s Dave Funk and Clem (from Warrior Run) discussing his Bachmann Diesel Mods. There’s MORE than one! It was great to see it in person.

The Canadian contingent was well represented. Paul Norton was there back in the alcove; but more impressive was Jon Radder’s one day trek. He arrived in time to eat breakfast at the diner.

Here, Jean, Ralph Dipple, and Doug Matheson enjoy a respite in the alcove.

Meanwhile, Ric Golding was enjoying the timesaver. Ric was amazing; he had several kids over there having the time of their lives; it was so well done - he had each kid doing hand and arm signals as he ran the locomotives.

It was hard to determine who was having more fun - Ric or the kids. All I know is that ALL of the kids had big grins on their faces.

Ric is good.
I don’t know how he can get the kids to do the work why he is having all the fun.

It is very interesting that two most adiment members of tyhe MLS group, are in pictures only posted on LSC…Is this a sign that they are seeing the light, and Ric has converted them to the LSC way of avoiding “Twiterdom”…!!!..? Watch some insecure MLS member, hurriedly rush off and suggest that it weas all a mistake, and those two MLS members were really at a meeting of some sort or MLS goof off…!!!

I’m gonna run and tell Bob! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m glad someone got some pictures. In my haste to get there for breakfast I ran out of the house without my camera.

Renewed some old acquaintances, and made some new ones. And found a few bargains in between.
