ECLSTS - March 2009

OK, I made my reservations. We were considering staying at the Wingate, but when poking around all the hotels, I found out I had enough points to stay at the “official” hotel for free.

Free won!

We’ll be staying at:

Holiday Inn Express
140 LEADER HEIGHTS ROAD
YORK, PA 17403

Who else is attending?

I’m about 98% sure that I’ll be there. Not having a free option, Ill probably be at the Wingate.

Ummmmm… Youse guys goin’ to last year’s ECLSTS? You just might have missed it. You’ll hafta hurry!

Hehehe… I LIVE in the past!

Maybe Bob can correct that…

I’ll be there Thursday and Friday night. Catch ya’ at breakfast.

Ahhhhh… To have friends!

My Parole Officer still thinks it is too far away to go. You’ll have to count me out. :frowning:

I’m considering going to the ECLSTS from SW MN. Anyone interested in sharing the drive?

Andre`

Dear Andre,

If only, if only I could. (I-90 WI) Sort of a western ski trip in reverse.

Joe Satnik

where at Joe? I’m 90 miles east of Sioux Falls along I-90.

When I was fresh out of college, I sold motor homes. I have made many trips from Elkhart, Indiana to Spokane, WA, ferrying the motor homes out here.

I’ve probably driven right past you, many years ago, Andre’, and forgot to wave.

Sorry 'bout that.

Actually living in the Eau Claire area.

Would’ve met you in Sparta or Tomah to go east.

I have a cousin in Beaver Creek. More in the Sioux Falls area.

Made many trips through Jackson, stopping to eat.

Back when gas was 35 cents/gal, my brothers and I would drive from the twin cities down to our cousins every long weekend, and even on some regular weekends. Ice on the bridges with a rear wheel drive car added excitement to the trip. (You need that shot of adrenaline every once in a while.)

Crazy fun times.

It’d be great to go to York, but…

Sorry.

My daughter is going to the University of Wisc. in Eau Claire. I know Sparta area. Family had friends there and grandmother lived in Plainfield. Spent several summers at McCoy in the Guards.

Not going to the ECLSTS…too many model railroaders there…few single girls, and no-one wants to party like we used to…!!!

I’ll be at the Pub Italia, here in Ottawa…if anyone cares to join me, and the girls; feel welcome.

Fred, playing the role of Snidely Whiplash, likes to tie sweet young things to the O-Train tracks. Unfortunately, Dudley Doright keeps spoiling the fun. Or is it Sgt. Renfrew and Cuddles?

I’ve been in communication with Harry and York is on the horizon. Can’t wait. Lord willing and the creek don’t rise (a real threat in my business), we are 26 days and a wake up before heading east. The alcove is ready and will once again be the gathering place for those of a like mind. Chairs and places to stowe your stuff will be there.

We’ve got a couple of new ideas to keep people intersted and, of course, the new modules of the “Timesaver” will be there along with the old modules of the “Inglenook”. Still have to do the final connections between those two. Probably wait a couple of weeks before delving in to that.

Springs coming, got 2 bike rides in this week. If Spring is coming, so is the ECLSTS. Yeah.

You guys have a great time in the Alcove. I’m going to have to miss it this year due to a scheduling conflict.

In two weeks we should be set up in the Alcove and ready for the doors to open. Its a great time of the year. Spring is coming and York is in view. The Lake is at Winter Pool and ready to hold water, so right now, all is good.

Last night I started the switching moves to relocate cars that are now on the “Inglenook” and “Timesaver” Yards. Over the next couple of days, we’ll remove those yards from the “Southern Division” and do some final fittings to verify connection through the quarter turn and create a connection between the quarter turn and the transition module.

So service your vehicles, make plans with the kennel to take care of your pets, “pack up the babies and grab the old ladies and everyone goes 'cause everyone knows” its time for the show.

Looks like I may miss “Brother Loves Traveling Salvation Show”.
Yesterday somebody backed out of a deal he committed to in January that was worth $1300 to me.
Probably not enough time left to make it happen.
You all have fun.
