Large Scale Central

ECLSTS 2018

I imagine it has been arranged that farcebook is sponsoring the Drag & Brag too, and nothing will be posted of it either…sad…

Fred, you could be here in person. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

For those that are not afraid of using Face Book LSC has been posting pictures from the show all morning…

Fear???

Wrong emotion!

I’m feeling smug for protecting my privacy vs shouting ‘Here I am!’

Too bad you won’t share here too.

I am not at the show, I have just been seeing the pictures that LSC has been posting on its FB page.

Protecting privacy is incredibly laughable while you are posting on a public forum, no safer here than on FB.

But do as you will, I don’t really care.

I’ll post pictures here once I get back home. It’s not easy to manage pictures here on the phone.

For those that do have access to FB

Here is a link to the USAT FB page video of the new FEF-3 locomotive running on display at the show, nice looking piece if you have the $$$$$

“Fear”…egads has farcebook got you obsessed…not much hope left there…

As far as being there…if I could be there; I would be there…not everyone can have the wisdom you seem to have, when judging who “Could be there”, and who can’t…

I think the days of sharing and caring are lost with the coming of such gizmos as farcebook, and the mentality of those obsessed with it…but…what do I know…I’m not missed, and few care if I attend or not…I’m from the past…I don’t follow trends like a bunch of lemmings…I do wonder what drives them to follow each other over the cliff…

It still would be simple KINDNESS, and care, shown by one person, if they could simply post a few pictures here so others could share even a few pictures of whatever fun and friendships appear in “The Alcove” and at the Drag & Brag…

I have no idea what you are rambling about Fred, just keep posting all your negativity here on LSC like you usually do. I am sure it is what makes you happy.

Any pics ? (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Thank you, Mr.McCown. I’m sure others, and myself, will greatly appreciate those pictures, as soon as you can find time to post them.

I do hope the show/the alcove/the Drag&Brag, all go well. I send my best wishes to everyone…

Is that “Positive” enough, for you young Vince ?

Vincent, please excuse my assumption, thanks for posting the info for the others.

Whoa, Fred. If I had known your sense of humor was out of service, I would not have jokingly posted that you could be here too.

Fred, I seldom take pictures. My phone does so many things, and none of them particularly well. So I usually don’t take pictures with it. I have no need for out of focus, under or overexposed pictures,. And my camera is a bit cumbersome, so I don’t drag it around. And you are the only one I have seen posting smack about you, “from the past”, “not missed”…do not even attempt to put those words in MY mouth!

I don’t follow trends like a bunch of lemmings…I do wonder what drives them to follow each other over the cliff…

If someone were to post a picture of the alcove, it would have been a picture of an empty alcove. There was no table, no chairs, no timeserver and no people.

Maybe someone who isn’t obsessed with farcebook, could send out a bit, to some of us that can’t be there…or is that asking too much ?

I am not sure why you are so obsessed with NOT being on Facebook. Facebook EASILY allows pictures taken with a phone to quickly be posted online where they can quickly be viewed by almost anyone on this planet. The alternative is to wait until folks get home and can upload pictures from their Camera using their computer. Or, if you want to really stay in the past you can take the roll of film to the drugstore, wait for it to be developed and printed, then scan the prints and upload the results to the web; hardly real time like is possible with Facebook.

Until LSC gets an official photographer on their staff, I am afraid you will be limited to the generosity of volunteers for any pictures, (and the easiest method is via Facebook). Your posts seem to discourage that possibility.

Here’s a video of an epic consist headed up by five garratt live steam locos this morning.

If you can speak to anyone about why some aren’t there, be sure to mention keeping the show away from Easter Weekend. Man this SUCKS!

I did and you were TRULY MISSED! Once again the show must fall on this date as Memorial Hall is only available for this date. Has nothing to do with the show producers. According to Don the next few shows will not fall on Easter Weekend.

Well Fred here is a picture of all the fun and friendship in the Alcove this year! Considering how much fun and friendship we have had there for MANY years in the past seeing it this way felt like being left along an interstate in a rural area naked and bloody with a rebel flag draped over your ass!

As for the 2018 show. Population was sparse considering it was Friday and also Easter weekend as mentioned. Met some new faces from here and saw some old ones as well and ugly ones to (Ken)! Mike Moran from Beacon Hill always has good deals on used stuff(IMO) and manages to get into my panties almost every year! Great seeing the ones I did see and is always good having conversation with Charlie Ro. Would also like to give a shout out to the boys at Star Hobbies for putting this together for us!

Thank you, Mr. David Russell of PA., for posting the picture.

Exactly what I said! Would of thought for $4500 it would have a fan driven smoke unit. Maybe the actual production unit will have one, but maybe I am just wishful thinking!
