Divorce puts strain on families

Tim, I tend to agree with Victor on this one... I think you are overoptimistic, conspiracy requires some intelligence... Best wishes from Tokyo, Zubi

Tim -

I really don’t want to get into this discussion, and have no love for Mr. Bush, however I disagree with your opinion of his reaction. He is the leader of the free world, like it or not, and was in a public situation with very young children. I feel his lack of visible reaction was one of the most professional things he has ever done. It would have done no good to have a emotional reaction in public. A leader has to remain calm and in control in every situation. Rushing away from the school immediately would have done nothing to protect him and probably frightened the children.

You can believe what you want, but I think you are out on a very weak limb with this one.

How about Apollo to the moon. Faked, right ? An the holocaust prior to and during WWII didn’t happen either did it? Both popular theories about how government has fooled the people.

" I heard a ‘story’ of radar operators observing a larger than usual object on their screens but were informed to ignore it."

They were told to ignore it for a reason. Hickam Field was expecting a flight of bombers from the mainland and it was assumed that the large blip was them…

Going back to Japan and the ending of WW2 (or should I say WW1, act 2). The Japanese situation went from bad to worse with the Russians having declared war and started hostilities against them as well. That ended Japan using the Russians as the go between with the Allies. If they hadn’t surrendered we probably would have seen a divided Japan not too much different than a divided Germany. It probably would have been worse.

Zubi,

PS that was of short duration. OTOH one could debate what signifies a state of comma.

Hans-Joerg, Well, could the absence of McName (or any name for that matter) signify the comma?? Zubi

Zubi,

Just came from there! My second stop of the morning, just in case I didn’t think the Morning Smile was all that funny. Sooooo the “Original Ventilator” is now the owner of the Family Feud. Sounds good to me! There will be more discussions on the intricacies of LGB wheel sets - everything except the relative wobble   - and the significance of the various stripes on RhB passenger cars - most of them not prototypical, but hey look at the Kollektor Value.

BTW it should have been coma as in comatose; if it would have been comma an exclamation point would have been more suitable.

Well spotted!!!;););) Best, Zubi PS collecting is good - that is how we get Mint C-10 on ebay! I quite like that...

Speaking of collections! Looks predominately like the RED BOX phase! The only “wobble” I’ve seen is between what you say online and what you actually buy to put on the layout. As a Veteran celebrating Memorial day I have to ask: Is avoiding military service in Switzerland one of the reasons you left? Or was it just the normal case of being left out of the inheritance?

Good thing you edited that. Unfortunately, you didn’t edit it enough. You are getting real close to causing certain people to break the forum rules on calling you a moron. Far be it from me to do so. I am so glad I don’t have to deal with your garbage. You add the bit “As a Veteran celebrating Memorial day” to the same sentence as a personal attack, that denigrates all veterans everywhere, living and passed. You should be ashamed of yourself. Grow up.

Jack,

You are wrong on all three counts!

 1. As I have mentioned umpteen times - and you probly gnashed your teeth over just as many times - I select very carefully what I buy. It has to fit the era and the local. It has to fit my standards and if it doesn’t it has to be good kitbashing material to get to fit my standards.

Of course being a “Kollektor” is much easier; you buy one or several of each and you’re done. Pack them away in a dark corner - heaven forbid that the cardboard sleeves should fade!

 1. Actually I got a medical discharge and would have had to serve in the medical unit of the civil defense corps - even did the intro course one week before moving to Canada.

 2. No, I inherited my share. Apart from that I also inherited my dad’s good sense for plenty of laughter, along with my mom’s tenaciousness in most matters worth the effort. As you know so well, it makes for a deadly combo when you’re at the receiving end.

BTW there will be updated pictures when things move along and the GREEN Kiss engines arrived. :stuck_out_tongue:

If you read back over the years you’ll find that I wasn’t the one that started any name calling. I don’t know what’s holding you back, nothing has kept you from it before. I recall this shinning moment.

Re: Black Thursday, the 26th has arrived...well, any news? Did I just hear the disconnected ramblings of a mindless apparition?

You know what?
Nobody gives a ph… WHAT you say or WHAT you think.

Take your stupid, mindless attitudes about what YOU think happened and about what YOU think people say or think, and shove them so far up your … it chokes you.

You’ve shot your wad, spent your dime, made your call, and NOBODY CARES!

The only trashing done around these parts are by the ilk of you.

whizz off.

Grow up?

Look around we all play with trains! Or do mean like the grown ups that are in charge at Bachmann. Your words, not mine!

Still looks like L.G.B. to me. Wouldn't it be better to admit some of it works good for you?

Jack,
It’s very simple. Just take a pair of calipers, measure something on an LGB car and whine about it being out of scale (incessantly). That should justify your ownership of said piece! :);):):)

OK people lets get back to trains! Yes, I know that is the day to remember those who ALL for our freedom, yes even those in opressed countrys! And yes I put in a few years in the Military sevice, unlike so, appearently. But I think this a LS Train site not a political BS Site! Let the liers in DC spue on, while we run trains and enjoy our freedom!

Paul

Jack, my comments are specifically directed at your “dissing” of people YOU don’t feel “served”.
I knew different.

Your comment falls right in line with hippies spitting on returning vets from Nam at SFO.

Zip it.

Cman,
You completely misread the intent of the question. Not uncommon. I simply wanted to know why Herr Mueller picked up and left one of the most beautiful countries in the world only to model Swiss trains as a reminder of his previous homeland. Please remember he is Canadian, they don’t celebrate our Memorial Day. On 11 November I will gladly wish him a good Remembrance Day!

Having passed through SFO returning home I know my comment doesn’t begin to compare. You should know better.

Jack,

I’m getting used to you having a bit of a problem comprehending, so here goes with expanded explantions: My standards include good mechanical and electrical operation. As far as LGB electronics go - it’s cut and toss when necessary, but mostly, select very carefully prior to buying.

You may have noticed over the years, there are very specific elements of LGB that I question, one of them being: They didn’t live up to what they advertised. OTOH your namesake at LGBoA/Silvergate has a hard time even getting basic facts straight i.e. how many poles on a PIKO G motor and what kind of material for the injection moulding process. I just love it when people are that “smart”!
Naturally there are a few more, but the “false advertising” is one of the better ones.

Well Marvin, of course you realise that this requires:

a) having measuring tools

b) knowing how to use them :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

c) having the necessary information and knowledge what the prototype is all about.

Measure and compare! That is on fine way to shut up the Red Box Brigade and the “Ventilators”.

Wow, 24 hours of forum inactivity and then someone drops a bomb. As usual, nothing but hot air was inside, with no collateral damage. Those who package these bombs really need to pack a little substance inside them if they want impact. As it turned out, nothing but a poof!

Tim,

Could be that Jack got a hold of a load of oats, that could do it.

BTW did you know that it’s YAHOO! time? Jack Barton is now the proud owner of the Yahoo! Groups LGB Family Group. As I said it’s YAHOO! time.
