Doug, your modeling is really first rate. Wish you were a neighbor! What I could learn. Speaking of that, thanks for the message you posted last July on how to upload pics for a Mac. I rummaged around today, found it, and used it to repost my avatar. Worked great. Now maybe I can also post some layout pics when things start growing again…and I clean things up. Thanks again.
I look forward to seeing the layout.
I’m glad you were able to get ypur mugshot posted,Pictures are fun!
I’m stiill pulling weeds but I think I’m winning the battle!
It just occured to me. Tell me where to find that picture posting note and I’ll proofread it and put it in Articles.
Found it under Home>Forums>Website>Uploading Pix From Mac. (July 19, 2010)
Doug
I like the shot of the shay. Your rr is progressing nicely.
This is from an open house we had on the club layout for the ones who helped us with this project.
Thanks Rich
it’s gotten easier to upload from a Mac.
1.First after you edit your photo on yout desktop, resize it to 350 pixels in width. Also make sure the file name is one word even if you separate words with a period and no spaces.
2. When you write your note in the Forums you can now use My Files.
3. In My Files go to the browse at the bottom of the screen and find your photo on the desktop.
4. Click on it to open it and on the MyFiles page and click on upload.
After it appears in My Files just click on it again and its location will appear at the end of your note,
5.When you click on Submit your note and the picture should appear.
It really gets to be an easy process after a couple times…
350 makes for a tiny picture. I’d recommend at least 640 pixels wide, and I prefer 800 pixels.
Bruce Chandler said:I agree. Not sure those on dial-up appreciate it, but it sure helps to be able to see details.

A “Special” came to town today. A couple weeks before we headed to N. California a friend’s. A couple weeks before he spotted a G scale Virginia and Trucke twhile the neighbor was preparing to sell it in a yard sale. It’s now on the Dirty and Dusty Railway.
Is there a way to tell what age this 4-6-0 is?
Second question. I have one door for the baggage car but I need another. Does anyone sell parts?
And lastly. I haven’t been able to get the sound to work. Is that a common problem with theBachmann 4-6-0?
Is that the tender’s sound trigger cable unplugged from the loco in the photo?
-
Fresh 9V battery under the water hatch on the back of the tender. Careful not to snap the hatch hinge by putting excess pressure on the hatch. (i.e., don’t force the battery down with the hatch…)
-
Turn volume knob under tender to the middle of its adjustment range. It clicks “Off” at one extreme of the range.
-
Plug the tender cable into the back of the loco.
-
Slide red switch on back of loco DOWN. (Down = chuff on, Up = chuff off — go figure, eh?)
Run Loco, chuff should operate.
If it doesn’t, unplug cable and jumper across the cable’s two pins with a U shaped piece of small diameter wire.
Every connect/disconnect of the jumper should cause a chuff.
If jumper causes chuff, problem in loco.
If jumper doesn’t cause chuff, problem in tender.
Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Joe Satnik
Thanks Joe, I will pursue it today and I’ll see what I find. You do have good eyesight. I had unplugged the cable since it wasn’t working.

That was a PICT!
The file name is wrong, it should end with .jpg … the first file name is layout (no extension) the second one is layout.1 … make it layout.jpg …
Greg
Thanks Greg. Let’s give it a shot.
