couldn’t have said it better. Just praying for relief. At least it is happening after the completion of the MIK. I will be leaving for Seattle on the 7th, so have to finish by the 6th. Then I can post pictures and do all the rest after surgery. Timing actually is pretty good. Not exactly the way a person wants to spend a two week vacation but atleast I will have the excuse to play with trains and make models for two weeks in the winter.
Wow thats a bummer, but health first, the trains will alway be there.
Well , I must say, I hate that you have to have brain surgery #8, but after all you have been dealing with I’m glad they have a plan and it’s happening soon, prayers my friend for a speedy and FULL recovery, and hope you fill you self with eclairs while in Seattle, I hear they are supposed to be good at the bnB you’re staying at

I have a confession. While I always look forward to the challenge each year, and did this year as well, my focus is elsewhere. I haven’t said much lately because frankly its just becoming another day in the life. But shunt #3 is a failure and I have been suffering. The sob story is that after work I don’t have much energy and my vision is back to being real wonky and it makes it hard to see what I am doing. Then there is just the headache stealing any thunder I have left. I am not bowing out, I will finish. It just may not be with my usual enthusiasm. The bright side is the challenge finishes up just in time to head to Seattle for surgery #8.
But this is why I have not had as much progress as I normally would by this point. I am hoping just to finish.
Oh, man. Why didn’t I think of THIS as an excuse??? (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)
Devon;
Hoping that the upcoming surgery does eliminate the problem. Rest and attack the locomotive once you can. It is really looking good.
Best wishes, David Meashey
I have a great idea, Devon … instead of a compressed air driven loco, why not a compressed spinal flui … ahh, never mind, I forgot we already HAVE one of those (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)On a serious note, I do hope this is a successful surgery. You have endured far more pain and agony than anyone should have to deal with. Prayers forthcoming buddy (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

What’s an eclair?
I’m thinking Devon needs some cardamom chicken instead… or maybe some calzones? BTW, he already placed a reservation and I accepted on behalf of my parents before I even asked. I figured Devon didn’t want to share a bed with a toddler…
I think this is all just one big conspiracy theory on Devon’s part to get a free dinner and dessert. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)
Be well, Devon, and soon…i really want to see how this loco works out!
Prayers coming your way from the Islands, Devon!
If this one doesn’t work, I’m coming out there and smacking those doctors around some.
Hope everything goes smoothly, I’ll try and pick up the slack for you here.
Thanks to all of you. I really do appreciate it. I consider this group an extended family. You all have proven to be a supportive caring bunch of good dudes.
Creme puffs not eclairs. And oh man they are good. And Craig’s moms cardamom chicken is to die for. Its almost worth having surgery for. When you meet Craigs mom and dad you realize that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. They treated me like family when I was a complete stranger. Very very good people. A person is better just for knowing them.
Now as for the build, you will see it to completion. One thing about the surgery is I have a two week vacation. I think I will be done on time but if not I will work on it while recovering. I am working on the drive rods and side rods today.
Your Loco is really coming along. I think it will be good looking being painted yellow. It makes sense for what it is.
Good food and good friends! Always the best medicine!
Proof i am still moving g forward. One side of the cross head, drive rod, and side rod done.
Go for it. I’m pulling for you.
Swanky! the yellow pops! (too much HGTV here)
Nice work, Devon. Did you print the rods or did you fabricate them? I like the yellow, it will go well with the pink engine (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
