Looks as if you pressed it three times…
I officially want to impeach Dave. There is a certain level of awesomeness that should not be exceeded. Is there a can in there anywhere? This car is just insanely cool
Unbelievable. I wasn’t sure you had it in you, but I should have known better.
I want to quibble with something. It may be a compatibility issue for the rest of your rr, and I don’t know if this is your final version, but I’m not crazy about the couplers. To me, they look outclassed by the rest of the work. Body-mount Kadees maybe?
Thank you, John. You expressed my feeling, much better than I did.
Well since this is his railroads own car, maybe it is prototypical for their cars to have couplers like that. His rr his rules and 98%of the people will never notice that couplers , or any other little things
**Dave Taylor said:**But the back shop crew on the NMNRR didn’t know that, and so they built it anyway.
And they have totally earned a raise!
In the words of O.D.: “Wow…” You’ve impressed a teenager with this build, Dave!
OK gang…1st… My RR, due to physical limitations of land area, has a section of 4 ft. diam. curves. Yup like running around the christmas tree tight. Either I live with those constraints or no RR. In all my builds I have only built “Shorty” cars, and I use “Talgo” trucks… Everything runs fine. Now on the three occasions friends have visited my RR and tried to run body mount knuckles all three could not make it around with a string of cars in one direction, one could make it around with a short string, in the downhill direction.
2nd… Geezeesss guys… I know that you all love to look at the pictures, but please read some too! From the start i said that I would have to build a set of trucks for this project… That is in the works… and I have already did some milling on my standard bolster and talgo to shorten up the protrusion of the knuckle…
3rd… Even with this adaption, i’m not sure that it will make it around my pike… And if it won’t, I might take it on tour to a few other RRs and then it’s on the auction block… either with my trucks or without…

Knowing this, I’d say the knuckle couplers you have on there right now look just damn fine.
Dave;
Your explanation sounds fine to me…THANKS. My comments about the couplers were truly, only meant constructively.
Fred Mills.
Disaster… Just when everything seemed to be going my way…
Guess I need to shift gears on my build schedule. I really need to build some trucks now… no more lollygaging around…
Set the jeep down on a table, walked into the other room, heard a CLUNK, and came out to find this…
Welllllll I know that it rolls easily …
Well now it’s time to do BDA…
Ahaaaaaa…CaCa…

Oh, no ! Man, I hope the body itself wasn’t too badly damaged.
Drat!!! But you’ve got this so no worry(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
That hurts. I cringed just reading it
Dave, now you should know better. Toys are like children, turn your back on them and they will misbehave. That said, looks like some significant damage. Hope all goes well getting it repaired and the project back on track…pun intended.

“Children” only know what they have been taught ? Kinda like toys ??
Bump for post count
You got this, Dave, just like …
BDA ( For you non military types…Bomb Damage Assessment ).
1- Truck total damage… save wheel set, Talgo–trash, Side Frames-- Re-Melt pot.
1- Truck Save wheel set, save Talgo and 1 side frame, 1 side frame – Re-Melt pot.
1- Grab Iron, Bent-- re-form to meet factory specs.
1- Sturrup, Bent-- re-form to meet factory specs.
1- Brake Wheel and staff, Bent- might leave alone for character.
1- Brake Lever Rod and Clevis. Broken, ( parts missing [ poof factor applied]) Re- place with new parts.
1- Air Tank and plumbing. Broke loose from mountain. Re- Attach, Bent Pipe-- re-form to meet factory specs.
No visible damage to car body or bolsters. ( built Stout to take a proven beating )
Working on casting new trucks, and modifying the Talgo Knuckle mounts to shorten the extension.

Well, that kind of stinks, but at least you have a recovery plan. I didn’t see all of that in the crash photo, thought it was mostly the truck.
Rooster,
I am afraid of what you have been taught. Never trust a man who models Amtark
