CVSRy Over-Engineering Dept. proposes to cover Deep Cut

I would agree the server was slow. They’re fine now.

Looks good Jon.

I thought it looked pretty bad - hopefully when I'm done fixing the mistakes it will look good :D

…no rush, Jon; I’m still designing the urn car…besides you still have a few posts to go, to catch up to “The Bruce”…!!!

You may have to get my widow to run the urn car around. All this concrete work will be the death of me yet !

Seriously, I was really looking forward to doing the final back-fill and landscaping around the tunnel. To say I was disappointed with the failure of this last cast/pour is an understatement.

Some final repair work with extra fine vinyl filled cement tonight then I’m off this project a few days. I have a boat that hasn’t seen water in over a year that needs my attention.

…a boat, also known as a hole in the water that there will never be enough money to filll…!!
Ric Golding is the only person I know that actually pays for his railroading with boats…!!!

…stick with concrete, Jon, it will not float away when your back is turned…!!!

One of the reasons Ric is always smiling ;) Ralph

Here’s my boat in the front.

Good name Doug

I have two, both currently dead. A 2002 Aqua Patio pontoon, “Toon Time”, with motor problems. And a 1961 Corl Bonanza with a 1967 Evinrude “Gettin’ Wet”, that I restored ( http://w1kbw.radder.org/Corl_Project_1.htm ) and now has motor problems. I got rid of my third, a 1972 Caravelle Tarpon in a roll-off container last spring. That one was a stalled restoration project ( http://w1kbw.radder.org/Caravelle_Project_1.htm ) started 14 years ago.

Edit: Insert the boat names.

Two dead Boats :open_mouth:
I now feel so much better about having no boats
Thank you Jon
Ralph

That’s quite a collection.
That boat wasn’t ours but one we found abandoned near our house on the desert. When I saw how low in the water it must have “floated” I wasn’t surprised by the name which was on it.

Doug,

I believe “we” can bring that fine craft back to the “Bristol Fashion Yacht” it deserves to be with your desire to regain its proper character just for you. It will just take a “little” investment from you. Its got very sweet lines and I’m sure we can make it the fastest boat on the lake with just a “little” more of an investment from you. Give me a 1" inch square of fiberglass and I’ll turn it into a fifty foot yacht, just for you. It just takes time, money and a little expertise. What color were you thinking?

That project would buy you a few engines! I think where it’s “floating” is the best place for it!

Bob has said that he is in love with his new spiker… Well I’m in love with Quickcrete Vinyl Concrete Patch   Very easy to work with and it can almost be sculpted. In a few hours I was able to turn this…

FF: Click to Enlarge - IE: Right Click Photo and select Open Link in New Window to Enlarge Note in the above shot that I also used the patch cement to clean up the edges of the detail at the top of the wing walls. I’ll use a power sander before back filling the feather the edge of the repair so that it blends better with the wings. Tomorrow evening I’ll back-fill and place some rocks to make it blend into the hillside. I’m considering using either caulk, or concrete crack filler to join the exposed edges to the portal wings. It could still be easily removed if needed, but will look more like a single structure. A long shot before back-fill…

A nice save
Ralph

Jon,

That is beautiful work. What a fantastic looking tunnel entrance. Sure looks massive to scale, like many 1:1’s, I’ve seen.

One hell of a save Jon  that tunnel portal looks good. Awful lot of work though, just to hide a piece of corrugated pipe to keep from going to the land fill.

That really looks good and I may try another use. I want to make some roads and I may color it and try it to create roads.

…grinning…
