Started to put the windows and doors in, and noticed the interior shows through too much, being bright white. So, I’ll paint the interior a gray to hide it.
Why not black?
Of course once you put a roof on it, I doubt that you’ll be able to notice any interior…
@Bruce: Why not black? I have gray paint handy…
I want to add some lights to the interior, so a neutral color works best.
Bob, and maybe some quick and dirty partitions. Light inside an empty box of a building tends to show how empty it is. But a few partitions from some scrap whatevers and you could create some better lighting effects
Having realized my soldering skills resemble someone spackling while having an epeleptic fit, I decided to go with styrene for the ladders and platforms.
Here’s the first platform.
And temporarily set in place.
Safety ladder installed
Closeup of the cotter pin mountings for the ladder.
And the painted platform and ladder installed.
I also finished sheeting the roof.
Looks good. What did you use for the grid on that platform?
Thats one of the Plastruct lattice things. Dont remember the part number.
I thought I recognized the Plastruct. They sure do have a lot to offer.
It sure is looking good.
Dang, Bob, that’s looking fantastic…
What color are you using for concrete?
Probably concrete color Bart

Rustoleum satin almond.
Sounds like some serious masking is in order…
Nah, that part is already painted I believe
Good for you Bob. Gray concrete is so…new
Starting on the weathering.
Nice result I’ll need to learn the technique. Looking great
Now that’s cool; taking advantage of the tape’s poor adhesion? How did you come up with that idea?
If that’s what he is doing, it was probably learned during an “oops, aw fxxxx!” moment.
But it looks to me like he is doing each row one at a time, with the gaps in the tape giving him the seam lines. sorta the inverse of how I painted the faux stone wall in my bathroom.
Clever…hooda thunk it…
